cool. [Rodrick Heffley x fem!Reader] (Diary of a Wimpy Kid)
(from the vault)
You start working as a babysitter for the Heffleys, but a certain someone seems to be bugging his parents to go out more often. Why?
Words: 6,164
Warnings: like one slight sexual/porn innuendo
[. . .]
"What do you mean someone to watch me?” Greg yelled, exhasperated.
Rodrick laughed out loud at the whole situation. “Wait is little Greg here getting a babysitter?”
“Yes, and she starts tomorrow night," their mom replied, matter-of-factly.
“Mom, I’m in seventh grade! I don’t need a babysitter!”
“We’d believe it if the last time we left the two of you alone you hadn’t directly disobeyed the only thing we told you not to do and thrown a party while we were gone," their dad explained.
“Wait. Mom. So I don’t have to watch him? Like ever again?”
“No but you should be ashamed of the reason why-”
“Hell yeah!”
“Rodrick-” He was already up the stairs on the way to his room. She sighed.
“Mom you can’t do this to me. Do you know how bad it'll be if the guys in my grade find out you got me a babysitter?”
“They’re not gonna find out, sweetie.” She patted his head.
“And it’s not negotiable.”
“What your dad said.”
"Dad!”
“I’m sorry, kid! But if it makes you feel better, since Rodrick will be here and we’re getting a babysitter because we can’t leave the two of you alone, she’s teeechnically his babysitter too, right?”
“It doesn’t make me feel better.”
“I tried," he shrugged.
“Where are you two even going tomorrow?”
“We’re having dinner! " Susan exclaimed, excited to talk about it. "Alone, finally, because-”
“Wait couldn't she technically be Manny’s babysitter then?”
“Thank you for caring so much about what I had to say, son.” She sighed once again. “She’s not Manny’s babysitter because Manny’s gonna stay with your grandma.”
Greg huffed and made a point to be extremely loud when stumping upstairs to his room, immediately getting cornered by Rodrick.
“So… a babysitter, huh? And I thought your seventh grade couldn’t get any worse.”
“D´you think it’ll be that bad?”
“Dude they probably got you an old lady who smells like a museum whos gonna make you eat soup at like five PM and sleep at seven.”
Greg widened his eyes and furrowed his eyebrows, worried at the thought of what his brother was making him imagine. “You think?”
“Yup. And I’m not even talking about the total humiliation it's gonna be if someone your age finds out.”
“Crap.”
“Good luck with that.” Rodrick was obviously enjoying the mere thought of the torture that was going to follow.
. . .
“A babysitter?” Rowley asked, rather loudly. Greg quickly put his hand over his best friend's mouth.
“Dude! Can you be quiet?”
“Hmmph!” Rowley tried to protest.
Greg released his hand from over his mouth. “Sorry.”
“Why do I need to be quiet?”
“Because I don’t want anybody to know!”
“Why?”
“Because it’s embarrassing, Rowley!”
Rowley just shrugged. “I wouldn’t be embarrassed. A babysitter sounds fun! Maybe she’ll read you bedtime stories! And play board games with you!”
Greg just looked at him incredulously. “Just don’t say anything about this to anyone., okay?"
Rowley suddenly started to look really nervous. “You know I can’t lie…”
“It’s not lying! It’s just not mentioning it! No one’s gonna ask about it.”
“Okay. Fine.” He didn't seem that sure about it, but Greg knew he'd try his best.
. . .
You took in a sharp breath before knocking on the front door. It took no time for it to be sprung open, and you were greeted by a smiling Mrs. Heffley. You retributed the smile.
“Hi Mrs. Heffley!”
“Hey, sweetie! How are you?” She asked as she ushered you into the house, startling you when she closed the door behind you as you walked in.
“I’m alright! How about you guys? Your dress looks so pretty!”
“Oh my God, thank you! You know it’s been ages since I’ve worn a pretty dress to go out, you can’t trust three kids with a pretty dress, they're always gonna ruin it.”
“Oh God that must be hell,” you laughed along with her. “Where are you guys headed tonight?”
“Looking forward to having dinner in peace,” she laughed again. “Manny!” she yelled suddenly, startling you yet again.
A little boy walked in in his diapers, holding his pants up with both hands.
“Manny can you just please put on your pants?” Mr. Heffley followed the kid around, frustratedly asking him for what you assumed must have been at leat a fourth time to put his pants on, judging by the tone in his voice and the sigh that accompanied it.
“No!”
“Manny!” Ms. Heffley yelled yet again. The kid did what he was supposed to.
“Um I didn’t- is Manny gonna be staying with me tonight?”
“No! No,” she laughed. “Don’t worry, we’re taking him to my mother’s house.”
“Oh, right. Okay.” You tried to let out how relieved you were. Little kids were a whole other level of difficult, specially at Manny's age.
“Darling are you ready?” Susan asked her husband.
“Yeah! Yeah.”
“Greg!” she yelled again.
“What?” The boy yelled back from his room upstairs.
“Y/n’s here! Come say hi!”
“Who’s y/n?”
“Your babysitter!”
He came downstairs. Very slowly. “Mom I already-” He stopped. “You’re not an old lady!"
“Gregory! We don't say that to people! What is that about?"
“I’m sorry! I meant- Rodrick told me my babysitter was gonna be an old lady who smelled like a museum."
"Of course he did," Mr. Heffley said, under his breath.
You pretended to smell yourself. “I think I might smell more like an art gallery maybe,” you joked.
“I’m so sorry about this."
“It’s fine, Mrs. Heffley! Don’t worry about it. Now you two go have some fun, alright? Come on."
“Yeah! Okay. Right. There’s money on the table, you can order whatever you want for dinner the kids will eat whatever. Just grab the money before Rodrick comes downstairs or he's gonna pocket it. If you need anything you can call, okay? Really, anything.”
“Don’t worry about it! I promise I’ll call if anything happens! But I think we’re just gonna stay and eat some food and watch some movies, right Greg?”
“Uh, yeah. I guess.”
“Please be nice, Greg. Oh and if Rodrick bothers you tell him I said he’ll be grounded if I hear he's not letting you work alright?"
“Sure thing! Thank you. Now go!” You joked, pretending to send them off.
. . .
You and Greg had both sat down on the couch in the living room.
“So. You’re not an old lady.”
“Nope.”
“Are you in high school?”
“Yes I am.”
“What grade are you in?"
“I’m a senior!”
“Oh. Rodrick’s a senior too.”
“Cool! I don’t think I’ve seen him around though.”
“Lucky.”
“Why’s that?”
“He makes my life hell!”
“Well don’t you make his life hell at least a tiny little bit?”
“Maybe a little bit.”
“That’s just your job.”
“Trust me no girls like him.”
“Whatever, Heffley. So what do you wanna do?”
“Can we play video games?”
“Depends on what you have.”
“Apocalypse of The Damned?”
“I have never heard of that in my entire life.”
“You’re gonna like it I swear!”
“Alright. But you have to bring me the money your mom left on the table, I’m gonna order us some pizza.”
“Deal!” He ran out to the kitchen, getting back with the money in no time.
. . .
“Hey I was thinking. Can my friend sleep over?” Greg asked, obviously having been preparing himself to do so for the past few minutes, while furiously hitting buttons on his controller as you scrolled through your phone, having gotten tired of playing at that point.
“Um. Is your friend gonna give me any trouble?”
“No! You can- you can trust us.”
“Is he annoying?”
He seemed to take his time to think of an answer. “A little. But he’s pretty cool.”
“Fine, I’ll ask your mom.”
You clicked on Mrs. Heffley’s contact name.
hi mrs heffley
how's the date going? im sorry to interrupt
You didn't even have the time to finish writing the next text before she was calling you. You picked it up.
“Is everything okay?” Susan asked, clearly worried.
“Oh, yes. Everything’s fine, you don't have to worry! I’m so sorry to interrupt your date, Greg wanted a friend to stay over and I just wanted to see if that’s okay with you.”
“Is it Rowley?”
“Sorry?”
“The friend, is it Rowley?”
“Is it Rowley?” You asked Greg, leaning away from the phone, to which he just nodded his head yes. “Yeah, Rowley.”
“Okay, of course he can! And don’t worry, I’ll pay you extra for it.”
“Oh, that’s really nice, thank you. Now you should go back to your date, I'm so sorry to bother.”
“No worries! Are you sure everything’s fine?”
“Yes! We ordered pizza and we’re playing video games right now. Everything under control.”
“And Rodrick?”
“Uh, I haven’t really seen him honestly. He definitely hasn’t left his room though.”
“Okay, thank you.”
“Bye!” You hung up.
“So?”
“Yeah, call your friend. Ask him if he has any board games we can play!”
Greg did as you said, and, in about half an hour, a little boy with a yellow shirt with a dog on it stood at the door.
“Are you Greg’s babysitter?’
“Uh yeah, I am.”
“Cool!" He looked at Greg behind you. "You told me she was old!”
“Rowley!”
“What? You did!”
You laughed at the interaction and let them do their thing, only asking them to stay by the living room so you could keep an eye on them. You sat on the couch, scrolling through your phone again as you knew the pizza should be about to get there.
The doorbell rang in no time. You stood up to pay for it, grabbing the large-size pizza and tipping the delivery guy, who didn’t look very friendly at all. You brought it in. “Hey Greg can you go call your brother?”
“Yeah!”
He ran up the stairs, and you set the box down on the dining table, Rowley sitting down. Greg came back.
“He told me to bring it to him.”
“Why?"
"He just doesn't wanna come downstairs."
"You don't have to do it.”
“What? He’s gonna beat me up for it!”
“Not with me here. I got you.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. Chill out.”
. . .
“Hey you little asshole? I told you to bring my pizza!” A voice exclaimed from the second floor, and Greg muffled a quiet ‘shit’.
“Hey don’t say that!” You scolded Greg for swearing as a reflex.
“Hey? Are you not listening?” Rodrick was clearly close to the kitchen now. He walked through the door. “I said get me so-” he stopped dead on his tracks when he saw you.
“Who’s this?” He asked the boys.
“That’s Y/N,” Rowley said, through gulps.
"And I'm right here you know? You could just ask me who I am."
“Well who are you? And what are you doing… here?” He leaned over the wall, in a poor attempt to look cool. You had to fight yourself tas not to laugh uncontrollably at the sight.
“Well I seem to be your babysitter for the night.”
“What?”
“Did you also expect an old lady? You know, that's a really common and really hurtful babysitter stereotype, you really should think about the things you say now.”
“Wha- huh- yeah- I’ll just-” He let out a weird laugh, and walked up to the table, grabbing himself a slice of pizza and stuffing it into his mouth, seemingly to shut himself up.
“Well we’re gonna watch a movie after we’re done eating. You wanna join?”
“Oh he’s not gonna-” Greg started talking, but Rodrick quickly interrupted him, almost choking on his food as he did so.
“Yeah! Yeah! What are we uh- what are we watching?”
“Zathura.”
“What the fuck is Zathura?”
“Don’t swear in front of them!”
“Sorry.”
Greg looked at Rowley like Rodrick had just gone insane. Did he just apologize?
You laughed. “I’m kidding. You guys don’t mind, do you?”
They both slowly nodded their head no.
“Cool. As long as you don’t repeat it in front of your parents, alright? Don’t wanna get me in trouble.”
“We’re not five!"
“Well you do look like it,” Rodrick commented, and Greg stuck his tongue out at him.
. . .
“This movie doesn’t make any sense,” Rodrick commented, pointing at the screen.
“It’s not supposed to! It’s a kids movie about a magical board game,” you pointed out.
“Let me guess, did Rowley pick this one?”
“For your information, I did. You got a problem?”
“No.”
Rowley had, in fact, picked this one.
Greg and Rowley shared a look again. This was getting bizzarre.
The movie was over in about half an hour, and it was time for you to put Greg to sleep.
“But it’s so early!” The boy complained, and you laughed.
“I know, but you don’t have to sleep now, you just gotta go to bed! I can’t, like, force you to sleep.”
He let out an annoyed groan before agreeing and pulling Rowley with him by the wrist. “Fine.”
“I’ll be upstairs in a few!” You yelled out, and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes from dinner. It wasn’t really something Mrs. Heffley had explicitly asked you to do, but you had those extra minutes and wanted to get on her good side.
What you didn’t expect was to come in to find Rodrick still standing there, startling himself when you walked in.
“Uh hey!” His voice was high-pitched, clearly not expecting to see you there so soon.
“Hey.” You wordlessly walked to the sink, starting with the dishes. And then he offered to help you, which didn’t fit the image you had of him at all.
“What?”
“I said do you want some help? I can dry them.”
“Uh sure. Thanks.”
He just nodded, grabbing a cloth. “So did you put them to sleep yet?”
“Yeah they’re supposed to call me when they’re ready. Then I’m pretty much done.”
“Are you leaving like right after?” Was he… disappointed?
“Well not right after, your mom still has to pay me.”
“Right. She paying you extra for the dishes?”
“No,” you laughed, “just wanna score some points. This job’s good money, you know? But don’t tell her I said that.”
“Yeah, whatever.”
You nodded, a little awkwardly. “So what’s the deal with the van?”
“What?”
“The huge white van parked right outside? I assume it’s not your mom’s.”
“Yeah.”
“Couldn’t you have picked a better color?”
“What?”
“You know something other than the classic creepy white van?”
He actually laughed. “I don’t think a creep would have ‘löded diper’ written on the door.”
“Maybe you’re just trying not to look too suspicious.”
“Wouldn’t you like to find out?” Was he… flirting? Well, that was… an attempt.
“What, are you inviting me? You know, I was taught not to get into creepy white vans with strangers.”
“We’re not strangers!” He held his hand up for you to shake, which you did. “I’m Rodrick.”
“Y/N.”
“So. Ho'wd you end up babysitting Greg out of all people?”
“I mean, your dad posted something about it in the newspaper and my mom told me about it. Some extra money, you know?”
“And you’re sure it’s worth it? I mean he’s a big pain in the ass.”
“Aren’t all brothers?”
“I’m not.”
“Right. You’re like a dictator to him!”
“No I’m not!”
“He was scared you were gonna beat him up if he didn’t bring you pizza.”
“He’s dumb. I wasn’t gonna beat him up that badly.”
You laughed. “Well, we’re done. Thank you for the help. You can go now if you wanna.”
“You sound like a mom.”
“Oh my god! Stop trying to make me sound old! I'm some granny cinderella who turns into an old lady who smells like a museum when midnight strikes," you teased him, and he scrunched up his nose in embarrassment.
"Right. He told you about that.”
“Yeah.”
“Sorry. To be fair, I never had a babysitter, you know? I just thought they were all old and boring.”
“Do you think I’m old and boring?” You joked.
He snorted. “No, you’re pretty.” His eyes widened, realizing what he’d just said. Way to go. “Not in that- well not that you’re not pretty, you are, but you know what I mean. You’re uh- you’re pretty compared to what I- expected?"
It was stupid, but you could feel yourself blush a little. Why was it that you always fell for the most absolute idiots? “So I’m pretty… compared to an old woman.”
“I think you should let me start over.”
“But-”
“Y/N!” You heard Greg yell from upstairs, and you left the kitchen to go see him, going up the stairs and entering his room.
“Okay, we ready?”
“Yeah.”
“Did you brush your teeth?”
“Yes!”
“Both of you?”
“Yup.”
“Okay I’ll believe you. But your mom told me you’re on thin ice.”
Greg rolled his eyes and both boys got on the bed.
“Okay, goodnight. If you don’t sleep right away don’t make too much noise.”
“Are you coming over tomorrow?”
“Why, did you actually like me?”
“Just a little.”
You smiled. “Well no. But I think I might next week.”
“Cool! ‘Night, Y/N!”
“‘Night!”. You closed the door behind you, and walked downstairs to wait for Mrs. and Mr. Heffley to return so you could go home.
You stopped on the hallway to send your mom a quick text saying you were fine and should be leaving in a few before making your way to the living room.
To your surprise, Rodrick hadn’t gotten back to his room. Instead, he was laying on the couch, his entire body draped over it as he scrolled through his phone. He sat right up when he saw you. “Hey Y/N.”
“Hey. You not have anything to do?”
“I’m offended. But no I don’t.”
You laugh, sitting down beside him. “Okay. Well your parents must be on their way, so. Don’t have much to do either.”
“You wanna watch something?”
“What do you have in mind?”
“Well a real movie.”
“Zathura’s a real movie! I like it!”
“You actually do?”
“Yes!”
“Whatever. Well an adult movie I mean.”
“Uh, an adult movie?”
“No! Not that kind!” He was blushing furiously and you found it hilarious.
“Yeah whatever. What do you have?”
You ended up settling on a Marvel movie, but you barely had the time to start it before the doorbell rang, and you had to go get the door.
“Hey Y/N! I’m sorry we took so long, we had to go get Manny.”
“That’s fine! Rodrick and I were just about to watch a movie!”
“Rodrick came downstairs?” Mr. Heffley sounded genuinely surprised.
“Well you can finish it if you want!”
“Oh, no, I really should get going. We can finish it another time.”
“Oh well. Okay.” She put Manny down and grabbed her wallet, handing you your money. “Here, with the extra from Rowley. Hope they didn’t cause too much trouble.”
“Oh they were so cool! I was surprised.”
“Oh that’s great to hear! If they haven’t traumatized you too much we’d love to have you sit them again.”
“Oh definitely! Just give me a call.”
“Thank you, Y/N. Are you driving home?”
“Oh, no, I’m actually walking. I thought we’d be done a little earlier.”
“Oh that’s not good, we can take you-”
“I can take her!” Rodrick yelled, almost falling off of the couch in his eagerness. He stood up, walking toward you. His dad looked like he was short-circuiting.
“Are you sure?” His mom asked.
“Yeah! Come on, let’s go.” He walked quickly past the front door and into the white van.
“Sure. Bye Mrs. Heffley!”
“Bye sweetie! Tell me if he bothers you too much!”
You walked towards the van, getting in on the passenger’s seat. He turned the engine on in silence. There was an awkward atmosphere surrounding you, and you didn’t know why.
You cleared your throat. “So uh. Thanks for driving me.”
“Yeah it’s chill. Where do I turn?”
“Oh let me just- give me your phone.”
“What?”
“So I can put the address on the GPS?”
“Oh. Sure.” He handed it to you after unlocking it, and you did as you said.
“Turn left in 200 feet,” the disembodied voice said, and he did.
“You don’t have to uh- do these things for me. You know, drive me home, help me with the dishes. It’s nice, but I’m not gonna tell on you if you don’t.”
“I know. I uh. I want to.”
“You wanna do the dishes?”
“I wanna help you.”
“Why?”
He shrugged. “Dunno.”
“Fine.”
You got home pretty quickly, as you didn’t live a long way from the Heffley residence, and got out of the car.
“Thank you for driving me! Goodnight.”
“Yeah!” Rodrick yelled back, and waited for you to get in to drive off. There was a smile on your lips you couldn’t shake off, and you felt stupid for it. Was the weird wannabe rock band kid really having an effect on you?
. . .
On wednesday, you got a call from Ms. Heffley again. And then on friday, and saturday, and sunday. This could not be normal, right? But it was money, so you obviously wouldn’t refuse it. So you pulled up to the Heffley residence for the fifth time on sunday, knocking on the door as usual.
Greg opened it this time, greeting you with a confused expression. “You’re here again?”
“Miss me, kid?”
“Are they going out again?”
“Apparently.”
“Mom, Y/N’s here!”
“Oh hey sweetie! Thank you for coming!”
“No problem! Where are you off to today?”
“Well we’re going bowling. Rodrick found us these pamphlets at the mall and wouldn’t stop bugging us about trying it out, so we decided to give it a go.”
“Oh he did?” That was strange.
“And you seem to have things so under control! I can’t believe we’ve been going out so much!”
“Well I’m happy to hear it. When will you be back?”
“I’d say eleven if that’s not too late for you?”
“Oh definitely not! As long as Rodrick can drive me.”
“Oh that won’t be a problem. You ready, darling?” She asked her husband, who walked by holding Manny in one arm and a huge bag in the other.
“Yeah.”
"Everything there?” Susan asked him, referring to the bag. She turned back to you. “Manny’s staying over at my mom’s for the first time today. Isn’t that exciting?”
“Yeah!" You exclaimed, not really getting all the excitement about it. You supposed you would if you were his mom. Right now you were just happy you didn’t have to watch over him too. Little kids were always more difficult.
“Okay bye everyone!”
Greg and Rodrick were right behind you the moment you closed the door.
“Can we make pasta?’ Greg asked, and damn, the little dude must have had some sugar because he looked like he’d downed like three energy drinks at once.
“Well yeah. I make a killer pasta. Is Rowley coming today?”
“Yeah!”
“Cool.”
“Do you want help with the food?” Rodrick finally spoke up, and Greg looked at him like he was speaking Greek.
“Sure.”
“Are you okay?’ Greg couldn’t contain himself from asking him.
“What do you mean, assface?”
“Did you just offer to help with the food?”
“Yeah?”
“Who are you?”
“Oh shut it, dickhead.” You didn’t miss the nervous glance he gave you, clearly signaling something about you to Greg. And then Greg seemed to figure something out, his eyes going wide.
“Oh! Is that why you-” Rodrick looked alarmed, putting his hand against Greg’s mouth to keep him from talking, but he managed to get himself free. “Is that why you’ve been trying to get mom and dad to go out all week?”
“Hah. Don’t know what he’s talking about, pssht.” Rodrick laughed nervously.
“Uh sure. Well I’m already hungry so I’m thinking early dinner and then we can make dessert?”
“Yes!” Greg yelled.
“Okay but if we’re making the food you gotta set the table. Deal?”
Greg groaned in annoyance, but agreed. “Fine.” He went on his way, and you and Rodrick made your own way to the kitchen.
“So,” you started, as you grabbed the pasta from the cabinet. “You’ve been trying to get your parents to go out all week.”
He looked everywhere but at you. “Uh, I don’t know what the kid’s on about.”
“Well, shame. Cause I was gonna thank you.”
“For what?”
“Well the more times a week I work the more money I get right?”
“Oh right. Right. So yeah you can thank me.”
“So you were setting them up to go out. Why?”
He shrugged, trying to seem cool. “Wanted to be alone.”
“You’re not alone now. You could be in your room. Or like out with your friends or whatever.”
“I didn’t anticipate that you’d actually be cool.”
“Oh you think I’m cool?”
“Yeah.”
The water started to boil, and you threw the pasta in the pot, stirring it with a fork.
“Cool. You’re kinda cool too. You know when you’re not trying to be impressive.”
“I’m not trying to impress you!”
“I didn’t say you were trying to impress me .”
“Well I was.”
“You were.”
“Did it work?”
“Why’d you want to impress me?”
“Cause you’re cool. I wanted you to think I’m cool too.”
“Huh. Maybe I do.”
“Cool.”
“Y/N I’M DONE! I THINK ROWLEY’S HERE !” Greg’s voice came from the dining room.
“I didn’t hear the doorbell, are you sure?” You yelled back, walking past Rodrick to get the front door. Maybe you were too lost in the conversion to hear it, because the boy was standing right there when you opened it.
“Hey Y/N!” He said with a smile, greeting you with a hug, which was very on-brand for the kid.
“Hey Rowley. You alright?”
“Yeah! I brought water balloons!”
“You did?”
“Well they’re not full of water yet so they’re just balloons but yeah.”
“Cool! You should tell Greg!”
“Will you play with us?”
“Oh I don’t know, I don’t have clothes I can get wet-”
“Well that’s not a problem!” Rodrick said, and you frowned in confusion. “You can borrow mine!”
“Oh I don-”
“C’mon, Y/N, you really gonna disappoint the boy?”
“Shut up. Fine, but you’re playing too.”
“Deal.”
“Yes!” Rowley exclaimed, before taking off, presumably to go find Greg.
“Well you wanna go up to my room?” Rodrick asked, apparently having otten some confidence from out of the blue, sporting a cocky smirk.
You laughed. “You wish. Just bring me a t-shirt.”
“Yeah. Someone’s gonna be looking like the number one Loded Diper fan out there.”
“If you bring me a white shirt I will beat you up!” You yelled, and he was already on his way upstairs. You took the past out of the pot, mixing it with the sauce you’d made, which was the easiest one you could find.
Rodrick was back as soon as you set the pot down on the table, handing you a gray shirt that , of course, had ‘loded diper’ written on it in terrible handwriting.
“Thanks.” You draped the shirt over your shoulder and all of you ate in silence, apparently all stupidly hungry for some reason.
You were done pretty quickly, but made sure to get Greg and Rowley to promise to help with the dishes this time, since there were more.
“Okay! We’re gonna get changed!”
“Yeah me too!” You yelled back, making your way to the bathroom, changing into Rodrick’s gray shirt.
It didn’t hang as loose as you thought it would, and you laughed at the thought of Rodrick wearing a tight shirt for no reason. You supposed it was an old one he decided to turn into loded diper merch. Loded diper. What a stupid fucking name. You guessed it was fit.
Someone knocked on the bathroom door. Rodrick. “You done? These kids are little demons, they talk so much!”
You laughed, unlocking the door and grabbing your own shirt before opening it.
“Hello?” He looked wide-eyed, like his brain was malfunctioning, staring profusely at his shirt. “You alright?”
“Yeah,” he cleared his throat, awkwardly. “Fine. The shirt alright?”
“Yeah. A lot smaller than I expected. Does Rodrick Heffley wear crop tops?”
He shrugged, embarrassed. “Sometimes. That bad?”
“No.”
“Chicks dig the crop tops, you know.”
“Oh do they?”
“Don’t you?”
“I guess I’d have to see you in one to give an opinion.”
“Yeah that’s not happening any soon."
“Shame.”
“What?”
“I said let’s go.”
You barely had the time to walk into the front yard before Rodrick was hit on the face by a huge water balloon. You turned to see a terrified-looking Rowley at the other side. Rodrick gained his bearings again.
“Oh you’re in, you little shit!” He seemed way too determined on winning this, but who were you to judge?
Him and Rowley occupied themselves with each other pretty much the whole time, as you did with Greg, until you got hit rather strongly in the back. You stopped what you were doing, which was aiming your next balloon at Greg, who was right in front of you, and turned around to see Rodrick laughing at you.
“Motherfucker-” you cursed yourself mentally for swearing in front of the kids, hoping they wouldn ‘t tell on you, and launched the balloon at him at full speed, it landing on his chest.
“Hey!”
You played for about half an hour more until the sun set, and you decided it was best to get back inside. All three complained, and you laughed at the situation, because you supposed you did sort of sound like a mom when trying to convince them to get in, but they ended up listening.
“Okay what are we watching tonight?” You asked as you closed the front door behind you and dried your feet on the mat by the entrance.
“Oh can we watch a horror movie?” Greg asked.
“Nope, we know how that ends.”
“But we’ve changed!”
“It’s been less than a week!”
“People change!” Greg tried to plead, but you knew Mrs. Heffley wouldn’t like it if you caved in.
“No can do, Gregory. We can watch that Adam Sandler movie you wanted though.”
“With the little kid?”
“Yeah.”
“Fine.”
You were halfway through a second movie when the boys decided it was time for dessert, and you still had a little while before the Heffleys came back, so you decided you’d all bake cupcakes.
They didn’t turn out as great as you wished they would, but also weren’t half bad. They were a little flat and maybe a little toasted on the top, but were otherwise pretty edible. You covered them with some frosting and ate them as you finished the movie.
It turned out when you were done the Heffleys still hadn’t come back, so you decided to put the boys to sleep then. You came back to Ridrick looking at you at the other end of the hallway.
“Hey,” you said, not expecting him to be there.
You stood there in silence for a few moments before he cleared his throat and started talking.
“Um do you wanna hang out? ‘Till they're back?” It was funny, with him. One moment he’d be full of confidence, flirting with you at the max, but, in a second, his entire demeanor would change and he’d look unsure, insecure to ask you anything.
You were starting to wonder if he wasn’t just being a stupid hormonal teenager and if he actually, maybe, had a little bit of a crush on you. But you wouldn’t entertain those thoughts, of course. First because you could be completely misinterpreting the situations, and second because you needed the job, and you hadn’t gotten enough of a read on his mom to know if she’d be cool with that.
Still, you did have nothing else to do but scroll through your phone as you waited. “Sure.”
“Oh! Cool. Uh, my room’s right there,” he pointed to a white door by his left, and you followed him in. It actually looked pretty cool. It was sort of exactly what you expected his room to look like, except maybe a little messier, if that was possible.
To each their own, I guess. It’s not like you were the cleanest person to ever walk the Earth. You sat down on his bed, and he opted to sit down on a beanbag just in front of you.
TIt's safe to say things were a little awkward. “Uh. So. Cool room.”
“Yeah. Thanks.”
You studied the multiple posters he had glued to his walls. “Oh, The Cure. Cool.”
“Yeah. They’re not like super my style or anything. But they’re cool.”
“What would be your style?”
“I don’t know. Hard rock.”
“Huh. I don’t know. You just look like one of those guys who like rock but secretly listen to Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber or something when they’re alone.”
“What- what I would never- I don’t-” busted.
You laughed at him as he tried to deny it. “I think it’s cool.”
He stopped. “You do?”
“Yeah. Taylor Swift’s cool.”
“Yeah uh. Girls dig that.”
“Do you really know what girls dig or do you just make random guesses?”
“I’m well-informed.”
“Oh are you? You have a girlfriend or something?” Subtle.
He scoffed. “Pfft. Yeah.”
“Uh- huh.”
He gave in. “No, I don’t.”
“Okay”
“You're a girl. What do you dig then?”
“What a romantic way to phrase that question. I guess I don’t know. Never stopped to think of it. What do you think we dig?”
“Uh. Bad boys?”
You let out a laugh. “Yeah I guess. But it depends.”
“On what?”
“On whether they’re nice to us.”
“So you want bad boys who are actually nice.”
“Yeah.”
“That doesn’t make sense. Uh. But I can be nice.”
“Who said you’re a bad boy to begin with?”
“Um rock band? Cool eyeliner?” He motioned to himself, mockingly.
“Well who do you wanna be nice for?”
“Uh. You? Obviously.”
Your smile faltered. There was the confidence making an appearance again.
“What?”
“Uh. You know. So I can uh- practice. For other... girls?”
“Right.”
“Or maybe not.”
“Okay I ‘m lost.”
“Do you wanna go out with me? ” He blurted out at rapid speed.
Okay, sudden much? “What?”
“Uh. We could… go to the movies or something? You seem to like movies.”
“Right. But as a… date?”
“Yeah.”
You thought about it. It was just a date, it’s not like his mom would get mad about a date, right?
“Sure.”
“What?”
“I said sure.”
His eyes widened, he didn’t seem to have been expecting a positive answer. “Oh! That’s cool! That's- cool.”
“Yeah. Cool.”
He began standing up. “Well, do you wanna-” In that very moment, before he could finish, the doorbell rang, and you made your way past him, running downstairs and getting the front door.
“Y/N! How are we?”
You hoped the blush on your cheeks wasn’t as visible as it felt as you talked to her. “We’re great! Greg and Rowley are already in bed, Rodrick and I have been uh. Hanging out.”
“Oh that’s nice of him!” She turned to face her husband, who, in turn, grabbed your wrist.
“What have you done to him? Are you some sort of witch?” He asked you.
You laughed awkwardly. “Oh it’s all him! He was showing me the posters in his room, we like the same bands!”
“Oh do you uh. Like rock too?”
“Yeah, something like that.”
“Well we’re taking too much of your time. Is Rodrick driving you home?”
Oh, right. Shit. He was.
“Yeah I uh, think so.”
With that, he walked into your view, holding up the van keys. He’d apparently put on shades, probably so his parents wouldn’t see he had eyeliner on.
“Why do you have sunglasses on?” Mr. Heffley asked him as he walked past them.
“It’s called fashion, dad!”
Mrs. Heffley handed you the money for the night, and you went on your way, getting into the van with Rodrick, who, by now, didn’t need the GPS to get to your place. Except he wasn’t driving to your place at all.
“What are you doing?”
“Wanted a slushie. That cool?”
“I guess.”
He stopped by a 7/11 and bought each of you a slushie and some chocolate bars, which you ate outside. The wind started to get harsher, and you crossed your arms around your chest for warmth. He caught on to that, taking his striped hoodie off and giving it to you. You looked up at him, confused.
“What?”
“You’re cold.”
“Yeah but you’ll be cold.”
“Rockstars don’t get cold.”
“You’re not a rockstar.”
“Not yet."
You raised an eyebrow at him, unamused.
"Just take it!”
You did, and put it on. This one hung looser than the shirt you’d borrowed earlier. It did help. You tried your best to contain the smile that was insisting on forming on your lips. You knew it was dumb.
“Thanks,” you mumbled under your breath, and you could see him smirk, proud of himself. “You’re so cheesy. Wouldn’t take you for it.”
“I’m not cheesy. I’m just not an asshole.”
“You kinda are.”
“Shut up!”
You ate in silence for a bit before you decided to say what was on your mind. “Hey about that date?”
“Yeah?”
“I don’t… I don’t know if we should do it.”
He tried to seem chill about it, but he looked a little hurt. “Why?”
“Well it’s not that I don’t want to! I do. For… some reason,” you added, trying to lighten up the mood. “But do you think your mom would be cool with it? I mean I don’t wanna lose this job and I don’t know if she’d really like us being alone if we’re dating.”
His face lit up. “So you’re thinking about dating me?”
Oh, you’d messed up big time now, he’d never let this go. “No! That’s not what I meant!”
“I think it is.”
“Fuck off!”
“Oh we’re using big boy words now?” He grinned.
“Shut up.”
“Well. Don’t think that should be a problem. They don’t have to know.”
“What do you mean?”
“What, do you tell your parents everything? They don’t have to know we’re dating.”
“Yeah but we’re not dating.”
“Not yet.”
“Shut up!”
“They don’t have to know we’re going on a date, then. Plus, the days you work can be like little dates.”
“Yeah except there will be two children up our asses.”
“You can manage.”
“Fine, Heffley. But if I lose my job you’ll be owing me. Like literal money.”
“Deal.”
“Cool.”
“Yeah. Cool.”

meet-cute
okayyyy so here is something short n shitty on these new pics that my brain whipped up! tell me if you like this!
words: 1.3k~ish
warnings: flirting, fluff.
***
You loved coming out to this little nook to capture scenes of the city on canvas. Today felt especially inspiring with the beautiful spring weather.
You begin laying out your brushes and squeezing out vibrant shades of paint onto your palette. Losing yourself in the simple motions, you barely notice the passersby around you. That is, until a very familiar voice pipes up from behind.
"Excuse me, miss? Your paintings are absolutely lovely."
You freeze, brush hovering in the air. No, it couldn't be... Slowly, you turn around and your jaw drops. There, flashing his signature dimpled grin, stands Harry Styles himself. Your ultimate celebrity crush in the flesh, mere feet away.
"H-Harry? Harry Styles?" you stammer out, eyes wide.
He chuckles softly. "The one and only. I'm out on a morning stroll and I couldn't help but stop to admire your work. You've got a brilliant talent there."
Your cheeks flush bright pink. "Oh my gosh, thank you! You're—you're really here. I can't believe it!"
Trying not to completely fangirl and scare him off, you take a deep breath to collect yourself. Harry Styles is complimenting your art. This is actually happening.
"Sorry, I'm just—wow, I'm such a huge fan of yours. Your music means so much to me."
He smiles warmly. "I'm glad you enjoy it, love. Say, would you maybe be interested in doing a little commission for me? Painting my portrait?"
You nearly drop your palette right then and there. "You want me to paint you? Like, really?"
"If you're up for it, yeah! I'd be honoured."
Nodding fervently, you scramble to set up a fresh canvas on your easel. "Yes, absolutely! I'd love to! Just...just tell me how you'd like to pose."
As Harry arranges himself into a relaxed seated position, you take a moment to study his striking features. From the soft chestnut curls framing his face to those entrancing emerald eyes, he is perfect subject material. Your heart pounds rapidly in your chest.
"Okay, perfect, just like that. Stay right there and I'll get started!"
You take a steadying breath before putting brush to canvas, carefully mapping out Harry's form in broad strokes. The two of you fall into an easy back-and-forth conversation as you work, chatting about everything from his latest album to your shared hometown.
"I've gotta say, your Cheshire accent is pretty damn charming," Harry remarks at one point with a playful wink.
You giggle shyly. "Why thank you, kind sir. Yours isn't too bad either."
Harry throws back his head with a deep, raspy chuckle that has your toes curling in your shoes. "Is that so, darling? Well in that case..." He leans in close enough for you to smell his intoxicating cologne, voice lowering to a sultry murmur. "Perhaps later you'll allow me to read you a bedtime story?"
"Harry!" you gasp in flustered exasperation, half-heartedly swatting his arm as he cackles victoriously. The two of you are so caught up in your playful banter that you barely notice the small crowd starting to gather, whispering and snapping photos as word spreads that the one and only Harry Styles is getting his portrait done.
Harry waves jovially at his fans but remains focused on you, keeping up the easy banter.
"How's it looking over there, Picasso? Doing me justice?"
Glancing up, you smirk. "Well, it's hard to improve upon perfection, but I'm giving it my best shot."
He smiles, and swears he felt his heart skip a beat at your words. "Such flattery! And here I thought you were just a pretty face with those big doe eyes."
You roll said eyes dramatically as your cheeks flush. "Oh, stop trying to put me off, you flirt!"
Over the next little while, you alternate between studying Harry's striking features with lazer-like intensity and flushing furiously whenever he catches you staring. At one point, he pointedly clears his throat.
"You know, most artists usually start on the face when doing portraits," he remarks with a teasing lilt.
Cheeks flaming again, you force your gaze away from the rippling muscles of his forearms where you'd been fixated like a teenager. "Hush you, I'm simply taking my time with the background work first."
"If you say so," he chuckles but obediently returns to stillness, allowing you to slowly build up brushstrokes on the canvas.
Time seems to fly by as your brush strokes bring Harry's image vibrantly to life on the canvas. The swarm of onlookers grows steadily bigger, phones clicking away to document the scene. Several times you have to politely ask people not to get too close and obstruct your view.
With one last few delicate strokes to bring out the shine in Harry's eyes, you finally lean back with a satisfied smile.
"Well, Mr. Styles...what do you think?"
Harry rises from his pose and steps over to admire your handiwork, lips parting in an impressed grin.
"Wow...Y/N, this is incredible! You captured me perfectly!"
You beam proudly, butterflies erupting in your stomach at his praise. "I had some pretty gorgeous subject matter to work with."
Chuckling, Harry carefully plucks the canvas from the easel. "You've definitely earned your payment and then some. Name your price, love."
After some back-and-forth haggling that has the crowd laughing, Harry hands over a generous sum of cash and pulls you in for a warm hug.
"Truly, thank you for this. I'll cherish it forever!"
You bite your lip shyly as he pulls away. "You're more than welcome. Can't say I mind immortalizing that handsome face on canvas."
Harry tosses you one last wink before turning to greet his clamoring fans, the sea of people quickly engulfing him and carrying him off down the street.
As he's shuffled away, Harry feels a pang of disappointment that he didn't get a chance to ask for your number or make plans to see you again. He spent the whole time shamelessly flirting and getting flustered by your adorable blushes and quips. Now he may never get the opportunity to take you out on an actual date.
Once he's finally escorted into his awaiting car, Harry lets out a frustrated huff and runs a hand through his tousled hair. He'd been so wrapped up in your captivating presence that he didn't even think to get your contact information before being mobbed. Rookie mistake.
"Stupid, stupid," he mutters under his breath, pinching the bridge of his nose.
Just as he's resigning himself to having let a potential connection slip through his fingers, something catches Harry's eye. He glances down at the canvas you had been painting him on, safely tucked onto the seat beside him, and a slow smile spreads across his face.
There, just peeking out from the backside wrapped around the frame, is a scribbled set of numbers. Hurriedly, Harry flips over the painting to inspect further. He lets out a delighted laugh at what he finds.
It's a phone number! Trailing below it in your handwriting are the words "In case you need your portrait updated ;) -Y/N"

I read ur cg kiribakudeku x little reader and I LOVEEEEE IT IT'S SO CUTE
So maybe Ch kiribakudeku where the reader loves to nap BUTTTTTT only really with bakugou so everytime she's sleepy she crawl to bakugou (she's like 1 and cant really walk so she crawls everywhere) and climbs on his lap and start to fell asleep and when she cant sleep with bakugou she cries just wanting her daddy and her other cg tries to comfort her 🌺
Missing You
KiriBakuDeku x Little Reader
I felt bad halfway and decided that hey why not have her realize that she was neglecting Kiri and Deku by only wanting Baku. Thanks for the request though, halfway through all of them atp
Midoriya and Kirishima noticed a shift in their dynamic it started the week Bakugou was away for hero work. She acted normally the first few days he was away but the last few she wouldn’t stop crying. Out of headspace she understood that he was working but in her headspace she felt alone.
While she had two of her caregivers it still felt weird for Bakugou to not be there. He was the one that would read her bedtime stories and make sure she ate her vegetables. Yet without him there she felt as if she couldn’t do those things.
It took everything in Midoriya and Kirishima to try and calm her down at nights. They tried their luck at reading her bedtime stories but it wasn’t the same. The way he used silly voices for characters or would cut her carrots up into little stars. She missed it.
“How about Llama Llama?”
“No…”
“What about-”
“No, wan daddy.”
“I don’t think this is working, Eijirou.”
So the day that Bakugou returned Midoriya and Kirishima were relieved. Bakugou knew the second he got home that she was less than corporative with her other caregivers. It was evident in the dark circles under their eyes and the concern they held when she finally saw Bakugou.
Y/N on the other hand was happy as she no longer had a reason to cry at night. The second dinner was over and she had her bath she crawled her way into Bakugou’s lap. Her head was against his chest as she listened to his heart beat. He didn’t waste time as he rubbed her back in a soothing manner.
“I’ve heard you’ve been crying all week, what’s that about?”
She let out a small noise of surprise at his words her pacifier discarded as she looked up at him.
“I know it sometimes seems scary when one of us is away from you. But no matter what we will always come back, understand?”
She nodded her head listening to him speak as she did her best to process his words.
“Good, but also remember that when one of us is away the other two still love you just as much. We all hate to see you cry and it hurts when you only want one of us.”
Thinking back on the week she remembered how distant she was with Midoriya and Kirishima. How she would cry even when they did their best to cheer her up and make her smile. She knew they were trying their hardest to make her happy but she didn’t care much at the time.
Bakugou’s eyebrows furrow at her warbling bottom lip, “no need to cry muffin, they still love you. It’s okay..”
The sound of her crying alerted Midoriya and Kirishima who made their way into the bedroom. “Is she okay?” “Are you alright, baby?”
The concern in their voices made her sniffle was she reached out for them. Her arms didn’t stay empty for long as Kirishima followed by Midoriya wrapped her up in a hug.
“Sowwy.”
“Don’t be sorry, baby.”
“Yeah we understand, Izuku cries a lot when Katsuki leaves too.”
“Eijirou! I don’t cry!”
“Sure.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?!”
“It means sure.”
Y/N didn’t care much for their argument as she snores lightly with her head on Bakugou’s chest. A smile on her face as she snuggled against the rather explosive man, happy.

“C’mon babies let’s call daddy,” you said as you gathered your three little children. “Mum we’re not babies anymore,” the eldest spoke up as your youngest climbed in your lap. “Alright my mature adults, let’s call your father,” you said in a fake stern voice. Your children laughed as they got settled. “You sound like daddy,” your son giggled as he sat down. "Okay is everyone ready?" you asked and they all nodded in agreement. You grabbed the laptop and pulled up Skype and they all giggled as it rang.
After two rings, John's face lit up the screen. "Well hello there," he said as he sat back and your children rushed to wave hi. "We all miss you, sweetie!" you exclaimed and blew him a kiss. "I miss you all too," he replied as he held a hand up to the screen. "Daddy guess what?" your middle said as she climbed onto your lap to see her dad better. "What, pumpkin?" he replied happily. "I lost a tooth," she exclaimed and showed her dad the empty gap in her front smile. "She's been showing everyone, sweetheart," you laughed as you placed your face back in the frame. You continued to have your other two children provide their updates, your eldest had gotten the best marks at school and your youngest recently learned how to tie their shoes. You could see your husband smile at them proudly as he praised all of their achievements. Eventually, you saw the time and knew it was time for bed. "Kiddies I think it's time we head up to bed, yeah?" you asked and you were immediately met with groans. "Don't act like that for your mother," Price scolded and the whining stopped. "Maybe if you ask nicely, Daddy can read us all a bedtime story," you smiled and they begged your laughing husband.
Eventually, he relented and your kids happily climbed down and raced upstairs. This was their favorite part of the night when John was away and were all dutifully ready to be tucked in. You followed with the laptop in hand and set it up so that all your children could see. "Alright, let's see what we have here," John chuckled, "I have a new one for you it's called 'Goldilocks And The Three Bears'" your kids oooed in response as you sat next to your youngest bed. "I have a special guest," he continued and shifted the camera to the left, "Uncle Kyle is here and he'll be doing some of the voices." You waved as you saw the Sergeant appear on the screen. The kids screamed with happiness at the sight of their favorite uncle appearing. "Hi kids, I'm Goldilocks," he said in a high-pitched voice and you let out a small laugh. As soon as everyone settled, John prepared his best narrator voice and opened the book. "Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Goldilocks," he began. Before you knew it, he was reading the last few lines. By now, your children were fast asleep. The excitement from seeing their father and the laughter from Kyle's impressions had tuckered them out. You kissed them all gingerly before picking up your laptop and heading downstairs.
"Hi sweetheart," John said as you settled on the couch. "How are you doing?" you asked and his smile faltered a bit. "Tired, missing home," he replied and your heart ached slightly. "We miss you too, John," you whispered as you brought the device closer. "I'll be home soon, just have to tie up some loose ends," he noted. God you missed him. You knew what you had signed up for on your wedding day but these last few months had been hard. You sighed as he looked at your thoughtfully. "Want me to tell you a bedtime story?" he joked and that's how you fell asleep to your husband just talking.

“Daddie daddie daddie!” is all the warning Johnny got before his two twins came running to him. “Slow down there, wee little ones,” he laughed as he went to pick them up in his arms. After four years, Johnny would never get tired of this. “Mammy did face paint with us,” his son said as Johnny examined his face. You had in fact painted their faces and they were excited to show their father. “Let’s get a proper look at both of you,” he said as he sat them both down on the kitchen counter. His kids smiled widely at him and he could see a collection of butterflies and bees on his son’s small face and hearts and flowers on his daughters.
“Where’s your mam now?” he asked as he lowered them off the counter. His daughter excitedly grabbed her dad’s hand and led him to the master bathroom. You stood there washing off your hands and brushes to see your tiny terrors dragging Johnny in. You smiled when you saw them tugging at your husband's arm. You put the brushes down as your twins jumped up and down in excitement. “Hi sweetheart, everything good at the brief?” you asked as you walked over and kissed his cheek. Your kids squealed in disgust and hid their eyes as he held your face gently. "All good, love," he replied, "now what's all this face paint business about?" You looked down to see your kids running around as if they were in a sugar rush. "Ah I had them lying around and they were getting antsy waiting for you," you said and gestured for the twins to settle down. As you continued to clean and chat with Johnny, your daughter had a brilliant idea.
"Mam, can you do some face paint on Daddie?" she asked sweetly and you looked over at Johnny who looked equally as excited. You sighed as you had just finished cleaning your brushes but you always folded for your children and your husband. "I guess I could," you said and the whole group cheered. You set up your station again and Johnny sat on the bathroom counter, leaning down so you could see his face. He squirmed a little under your grip and you ran your fingers over his stubble. "I could make something work," you said before pulling out the paints in your other hand and beginning your masterpiece. You made sure as you were painting to tell your kids not to ruin the surprise. Johnny held onto your waist as you painted. Your children moved around every so often to get a better angle of your work.
"And done," you said with a smile and he turned to look at himself in the mirror. "You've outdone yourself," he said as he examined the delicate brush strokes. "I wanna see!" your son called and Johnny hopped off the counter so they could get a better look. The twins gripped his cheeks and giggled at the splashes of yellow and blue and white. "It's a duck!" your daughter exclaimed. "It's a family of rubber ducks," you said as you bent down, "There's a daddie, a mammy, and two little ones following." They moved Johnny's face around to see the two parent ducks on one cheek and the two smaller ones on the other side. "That's us!" your daughter said as she touched the wet paint. She quickly rubbed it off on her dress and you sighed as you had just gotten them changed that morning. They ran to the playroom and before you could follow, Johnny held you back and kissed you. At first, you thought it was romantic but you soon realized he had brushed off the paint onto your face. "You're a bastard," you joked as you examined your face. "Ye but I'm yours," he said and you laughed as you went to follow your wild children.
gaz
"Shhh don't ruin the surprise," Kyle could hear you say as the door slowly cracked open. All morning, you and your daughter had worked on something special for him. According to your five-year-old, it was "Top Secret" and Kyle was happy to catch up on some shows while you and her worked in the living room. Your daughter jumped onto the bed as Kyle reached to pause his show and you joined soon after. "Okay it's time to close your eyes," she said and Kyle put his hands over his eyes. You smiled as you handed your daughter the masterpiece she had been working on. "You can open them now," she giggled and shoved the paper into his hands. "This is amazing Ivy," he said as you lay down next to them. "She made it all himself," you smiled as you turned to see the drawing.
Today was Kyle's last week before a long deployment and your daughter had wanted to give him something to have. All morning, she drew and colored a drawing of your family including your German Shepherd. The childish drawing had you and Kyle in front of your house and your daughter running around with your dog in a yard of green grass. Kyle kissed your head as your daughter described the scene and pointed out all the drawings. "...then we have mummy, she's wearing the green dress you got her," she said as she continued to point. "And who's that handsome guy?" Kyle said as he pointed to himself. Your son smiled up at you before replying. "That's you, Daddy," she said, "I wanted to draw your uniform but it was too hard so you're wearing a shirt and shorts." Kyle laughed as the drawing was surprisingly accurate, the clothes were things you wore daily and the house looked like the one you were sitting in.
"Well I'm sure my little artist is hungry," he said as he got up and placed your daughter on the ground. "Let's go out to eat today," he announced and your daughter jumped up and down. "I wanna pick out my outfit today," she triumphantly said before running off to her room. Kyle took this opportunity to grab you and hold you in his arms. "Thinking about another little one?" he joked and you laughed as you rolled over to face him. "Not when you're away," you exclaimed, "don't even get me started on the weird cravings Ives gave me." He kissed you gently and you knew you would revisit this as soon as he got back. "She doesn't want you to leave," you whispered after you sat in silence for a few moments. "I'm going to miss you too," he replied and held you closer into his chest. Parting was always such a bittersweet time for the family.
Before you knew it, Ivy came storming back into your bedroom. "Look at me!" she said as she twirled around. You and Kyle propped up to see her in a similar green dress. "Oh Ives, I told you that you were going to wear that when we picked up Daddy from the airport," you scolded but Kyle placed a gentle hand on your waist. "It's a special occasion though!" she exclaimed and you just smiled at her early surprise. "I love it, sweetheart," Kyle replied as he helped you up. "I only think it's fair if Mum wears her green dress," he smiled and kissed you on the forehead. Despite having the surprise ruined, you enjoyed walking around the streets of your town with your daughter in matching dresses and your husband lovingly smiling at you.
ghost
Simon woke up to hear the soft taps on the piano and your soothing voice guiding your son. “Alright sweetheart let’s try that again,” he heard your voice instruct as he played the beginning notes to Heart and Soul. Simon lay in bed for a while as he listened to the peaceful melody. He had been gone for too long and your son had gotten even better since he was last home. You were now able to play duets with him and didn't have to direct him through the sheet music. He smiled softly as he got out of bed and made his way down the stairs. He made sure to walk gently as to not disturb his two musicians. As he descended, you joined in with the duet and began to play the other notes. “Heart and soul, I fell in love with you,” you began and Simon heard your son's little voice join in. Your voice was light and it filled the home with life. When you were first pregnant and he found out it was a boy, Simon feared he would turn out like him but after seven years all of his worries were quelled.
"...and stole a kiss from the night," you both finished as Simon entered the living room. After a few years, you knew when Simon was watching so it didn't surprise you to see him in the doorway. "When did you learn that?" he asked as your son ran up to hug him. He held him to his leg as he watched you turn from the piano slowly. By now, you were about 7 months along and were clearly showing. In just a few more weeks, you would be welcoming a little girl. "I taught him a few weeks ago, he's a fast learner," you proudly announced as you closed the piano lid. "I can play two songs now," your son boasted as Simon lifted him up and tussled his dark hair. "Better than I could ever do," he replied and he lowered your son and made his way over to you. "We might just have to get you lessons, Elliott," you said as your son joined you back on the piano bench. He beamed at you as you looked at Simon's mini-me. "And soon we'll have our own little orchestra," you continued and patted your growing belly, "she loves when Elliott plays, I imagine she's dancing in there." In the morning sunlight, you looked radiant and Simon kissed your forehead gently.
As you shared a brief moment together, your son insisted on playing a new piece you had just started to teach him. "I don't know El, you heard how bad I was singing last week," you joked as he looked at you with puppy eyes. Eventually, you relented and you motioned for Simon to watch. You cleared your throat as your son stretched his fingers and found the starting notes. Simon's ears were soon filled with the melody of Edith Piaf's La Vie en Rose. He smiled softly as you soon began to sing. "Des yeux qui font baisser les miens," you began in an attempt at emulating Piaf's elegant French accent, "Un rire qui se perd sur sa bouche." He watched as Elliott's hands moved around the keys as you sang the romantic song. Despite not being as musically inclined, Simon recognized you were in the key of C, something you had taught him. He closed his eyes as you both continued to perform in sync, savoring the melody and your soft vocals. As soon as he finished with a few ending notes, Simon clapped softly. You and your son laughed as you bowed to your audience.
"It's still a work in progress," you laughed as scooted off the piano and joined next to Simon's side. As you enjoyed the soft moment with your head on his chest, Elliott posed a question. "What if we name the baby Rose," Elliott spoke up and you both thought for a moment. "But out of all the songs why Rose?" Simon asked as you looked at your son. "Mum's always so happy when she sings it, I think the baby would like it," he continued and Simon listened intently. You had been flipping through baby books for weeks and no one of them truly resonated. As you thought about the idea, you suddenly felt the baby kick and smiled. "I think little Rosie agrees," you said happily before sitting down. Simon joined on the other side of the piano and you three squished on the small bench. "Rose it is then," Simon said and enveloped you all in a hug. Before you could get up, your son had a brilliant idea. "Dad let me show you how to play 'Chopsticks'" he exclaimed and Simon knew he was trapped with his musicians.

i love your cg hcs for the ancients!!! i would love if you did pure vanilla! :) hes so papa coded!!
yes
It’s official, I’m doing all the Ancients! (Side note: SFW only, NSFW is a no no!)
Literally gives you the sweetest nicknames one can think of: little flower, blue bird/little bird, my loveliest, sweetness, angel face, and so many more
Has the most comforting presence and aura, he walks into a room and everything is automatically okay!
Likes to take you for walks in the gardens and gently push you on the swings, it’s his favorite way of spending time with you.
There is absolutely no room on the fridge doors, they’re covered with every single drawing you’ve ever created. How could he not put them all on the fridge?!
Whenever he gives you milk it’s always special in some way, usually he adds a splash of vanilla and a dash of sugar!
He can’t lift you up and carry you like the others, but he will always hold you close in some way! Even if it’s just him holding your hand
Weak to puppy dog eyes. That’s it. He’s just weak to puppy dog eyes.
“Sorry, baby, but you can’t have that!” 🥺 “Aww… okay! I’ll get it for you.”
He isn’t much of a spoiler, but he immediately caves in and gives you whatever you want when you hit him with that cute little face
When he gives you baths they are always filled with calming bubbles and toys, maybe he’ll also have a scented candle off to the side(out of your reach, of course)
If you get hurt he will be ALL OVER YOU! He won’t calm down until you’re alright again and healed up, be sure to expect a lot of hugs and kisses afterwards
Loves reading you bedtime stories, there’s nothing in the world that brings him more joy than holding you closely as you slowly fall asleep while he reads your favorite books
Impure regression? Nope! Not in this household! He will do everything in his power to make you feel better, just like Hollyberry Cookie he’s not leaving until you crack a smile.
Oh yeah, hugs and kisses. Honestly, I think it’s just a given at this point! What can I say? He loves you and wants to show it in every way possible!
And that’s about it! Thank you for requesting Pure Vanilla because I loved writing this and I love how others will enjoy my works. Have a good one, y’all 🫶

okay BUTTTT i feel like a very important aspect to being feysand's housewife would also be co-parenting nyx and maybe even getting pregnant with a babe of her own?? feysand would be SO protective and doting of their soft little wifey bringing in their newest night court baby
Housewife part 3
A/n: omg ur so right anon. I think Nyx would love having two moms because that just means another person to love and spoil him
Warnings: poly relationship, pregnancy, and fluff
I think you would come into the relationship when Nyx was 3
They introduced you to Nyx before the inner circle. Even though he didn’t fully understand what was going on he became very attached to you
When you moved in you wanted to spend more time with Nyx
You take him out shopping with you and you always make sure to stop to get him a toy. Feyre and Rhys would give you two a look when you came home and he was holding the new toy. “What? This is the only one he needs to complete his collection.” “Yeah, I need it.” Nyx says with a small giggle at his parents faces
During the days at home you two read together, take naps, play in the garden, or playing g his favorite- hide and seek
Nyx loves to color and paint just like Feyre. You all decided fostering his creativity was important and would let him pursue any activity he wanted
Putting him to bed was always so easy
He loves bedtime stories so one of those and he’s out like a light
When he calls you mom for the first time your heart almost stops and there are tears in your eyes
You two were in the kitchen and you were making Nyx his lunch. He had just turned 4 last week so he asked for some cake with his sandwich and you couldn’t say no to that. Nyx climbed onto a chair and waited patiently for his food. When you set it down in front of him the little boy smiled up at you and said, “Thanks mom.” Before digging in
Of course he had no idea the affect him calling you mom had on you
You crouched down and pulled Nyx into a tight hug. Ruffling his hair you kissed his head. “I love you so much Nyx.” He kissed your cheek, “I love you too mom.”
When you put him down for his nap after lunch you went to Rhys’s office where he and Feyre were talking over some documents. Rhys saw you first and was confused by your tears and smile. “Y/n, is everything ok?” You nod enthusiastically. “Everything’s perfect. Nyx called me mom.” They both started crying as well and embraced you
Feyre is mommy and you’re mom, Nyx made that decision on his own
You absolutely cannot discipline this kid to save your life. Neither can Feyre so you two leave it to Rhys (he’s not very good at it either he folds pretty quick)
Special days with the three of you include going for ice cream, swims in the Sidra, and every month you take Nyx to this cute tea cafe where you eat fancy foods and have tea served in fancy cups
When he starts school the 3 of you don’t know how to handle it. You all cry on his first day not wanting him to go because it means he’s growing up and won’t need you guys one day. But that’s way far ahead
Nyx was happy to go to school, he loves making new friends and playing with the other kids
You all take turns dropping him off at school or sometimes you and Feyre drop him off together and get breakfast in the city
You always pick Nyx up and get an after school treat together where he tells you all about what he did in school
There were times when Nyx was sad and you guys never knew who he’d want to comfort him
One day when you picked Nyx up from school he had an angry scowl on his face and he was silent the whole way home. Feyre and Rhys were there to greet you at the door but he just ran up to his room and slammed the door
“What’s wrong?” Feyre asked worriedly. “I don’t know. He was quiet the whole way home. I asked but…nothing.” You started biting your lip as your mind raced. Was he being bullied? Did his teacher yell at him? Rhys heard you and Feyre having similar thoughts. He rested a hand on each of your shoulders, “I’ll go talk to him.”
Rhys got no where with Nyx. You guys accepted defeat and called in backup. Cassian and Azriel. They called themselves the A-team while referring to you 3 as the B-team (not true they are just very cocky)
After an hour of talking with Nyx they all came downstairs. Nyx climbed on the couch shoving himself between Rhys and Feyre. Cassian crouched down in front of him, “It’s ok Nyx, tell them what you told us.” He gave the little boy a reassuring smile. When you looked at Azriel you got a different vibe. The shadowsinger looked like he was about the kill someone. “Titus made fun of my family picture I drew. He got yelled at but I’m still mad.”
You swear you heard all 3 of your hearts break at once. That night you talked to Nyx about how all families are different and not everyone is going to understand that. He seemed better after that and said he would ignore Titus from now on
When you get pregnant you, Feyre, and Rhys were so excited to grow your family
The first person you guys told was Nyx
You were a little nervous telling him. How would he react? Would he hate you now? Would he be upset because all the attention would be on the new babe? You didn’t want your little guy to feel unloved or anything
You cried yourself to sleep over this in Rhys and Feyre’s arms the night before you told him
The next day you took him out for a special family day for ice cream and a new toy
When you got home your palms were sweating from nerves
Rhys ushered you all into the living room telling Nyx that you had big new to share with him. Rhys sat him in one of the Illyrian armchairs
“Nyx, we have something very important to tell you.” Rhys started. “Yes and we want you to know that we love you and this is going to be a big change, but a good one.” Feyre adds. You were supposed to bring it home and deliver the news. “You’re going to be a big brother honey. I’m pregnant, isn’t that exciting.”
Nyx just blinked at you a few times the smiled. “Will I have a brother or sister? Will they have wings too? Oh, when will they be here?” He was bouncing up and down with excitement in the big armchair
As your pregnancy went on and your belly got bigger Nyx loved saying hi to his sibling
He also loved to pat your belly and ask if you needed anything, he was just adorable
You guys pull nap on the couch together and he would read his books out loud so his little sibling would know his favorite books

I didn’t get to vote but it 100% been for dilf Bradley. Especially if it’s a live in nanny who’s crawling into his bed in the middle of the night when he’s sleeping… just imagining him waking up and she’s in bed in a scandalous nightgown 😵💫 I know this man would lose his mind
tw: for very slight, consensual hints at somno
no bc you know that dilf bradley does that thing where he startles awake in the middle of a snore and chokes a bit, so you’re already laughing at him as you’re creeping across his room after accidentally waking him shutting the door, and he’s frowning through the dark (definitely don’t think about how deep and rumbly his voice would be when he has just woken up) mumbling, “you okay? what time is it?”
“Mhm. Had to wait til they were both asleep to surprise you.”
you know what’s below the cut again …
“They were still up? — I put them down two hours ago?” Bradley frowns at the digital clock on his nightstand reading 10:53. He has to be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow for some work stuff. He rubs a fist into his eye socket and turns his attention back to you in the dark. He still can’t see you. Poor guy has no idea.
“One had to pee, the other wanted water, they both wanted another bedtime story.” You explain, waiting for your invitation. He seems to realise what you’re waiting for too, as he hums and pulls back the covers.
“Come on.” He gestures, dropping his head back down tiredly onto the pillow and shifting a bit to make room for you. On nights like these, when Bradley has to be out early, you can stay in his bed because he’ll wake you and remind you to move before the kids wake up.
He feels you slip into bed at his side and reaches for you instantly, curling one arm around your middle and pulling your bodies together. You feel his fingers still, and start to explore the satin covering some of your skin. Not too much of it.
His hands find the hem and feel for where it ends, making you turn your face towards his pillow to stifle a grin as he finds nothing but bare skin.
“You’re wearing lingerie.” He whispers into the dark, his touch rougher this time as he pulls your hips back into his. You feel his free hand reach for the lamp on the bedside table.
“Just touch.” You tell him, biting your lip to keep from smiling as he groans behind you. His hands travel your thighs, your stomach, across your breasts. “You can see me in the morning, when you wake me up.”
He presses closer, hard through the fabric of his pyjama pants, then turns his face towards your neck and kisses softly. “Yeah? Maybe I’ll wake you up teasing you, just like you do to me.”
“I don’t tease.” You tell him back as he paws at your breast, kissing at your neck. “You have me, don’t you?”
His fingers skim down your middle and stretch for the apex of your thighs. “I do?” He checks. He always checks.
Proving your point, your hand slips between your bodies and finds its place over the bulge in his pants, stroking softly along his straining length. “Mhm, however you want.”
and even though by the time his alarm comes around in the morning, neither one of you feel particularly well rested, Bradley does make good on his promise of waking you just as antagonisingly as you had woken him.

Bedtime snacks!
Okay… I had some time and Amanda seemed upset when I did my homework before watching the next tape but… wow. That… that was hard. I don’t remember Riley saying the puzzles were this hard. Okay… maybe I felt they were exaggerating because I know they hate puzzles… but I love puzzles! So like… it shouldn’t be this hard right? Sophie thinks. But now she finally has it. The next tape, titled Bedtime Snacks!
I’m going to need a bedtime snack after this… Sophie thinks to herself. Looking at the time. She puts the next tape into the VCR and it starts to play. The tape begins with Wooly laying in bed, staring at the ceiling. He eventually notices Sophie.
“Oh, hi there friend! Are there ever times where you feel like you just can’t sleep?” he asks. Sophie types in yes. “Yeah… heh heh… it happens all the time. It’s like your thoughts are just whirling around in your head and they just won’t stop! Well… sometimes it’s not even that. Sometimes I just… wait and wait and wait… and I just don’t fall asleep. It’s kind of annoying honestly.”
Honestly I just stay up really late on my phone or doing assignments and suddenly it’s morning. We’re not the same. Sophie thinks.
“What do you do when you can’t sleep?” he asks, but no text box appears so Sophie stays quiet. Wooly stands there awkwardly. “Um… good for you? I think? Um anyway, I think a nice bedtime snack can sometimes be good. Like some milk and cookies! But don’t tell Amanda okay? If she finds out we had cookies without her she’ll be really upset.”
“Maybe you could invite her?” Sophie suggests. Wait, I'm not supposed to talk!
“Well she’s sleeping, and I think she’d be more upset if I woke her up so… hmm… let’s just keep this between us okay?” Sophie types in yes. Wooly smiles. “Don’t go telling Amanda behind my back, okay?” Okay Sophie types. “Ooookay then. Let’s go to the kitchen!” the tape glitches to the kitchen. Wooly is quiet for a bit, as if contemplating something.
“Milk is so much better at night when it’s warm…” he whispers. “But we don’t have a microwave… so I guess it’ll have to be cold.” Wooly pouts. Sophie clicks on the stove. “I… I’m confused, what do you want me to do?” she clicks it again. “You can talk, you know, I won’t get mad.”
“You can heat up the milk in a saucepan on the stovetop.” she explains. Wooly’s eyes light up with excitement. Then he stops.
“But… we really shouldn’t be using the stove without an adult…” he mumbles. His face contorts a bit in frustration, “but it’s been forever since I’ve gotten to make myself a warm cup of milk…”
He sounds like he’s arguing with himself Sophie thinks.
“Mmm… weeeeelll. You’re an adult right? So it should be fine! Just… don’t tell Amanda okay?”
This really isn’t going to help Amanda trust me… but okay… Sophie thinks. “Do you need any help?”
“Yeah… maybe… I’ve only ever done this in a microwave…” Wooly answers.
“You’ve done this before?”
“Yeah I used to have warm milk with my little sister every night… then I’d read her a story… We had this whole routine. She couldn’t fall asleep without it… honestly neither could I… mmmm….” he pauses, “being able to remember her again after so long is weird… but I think I’m starting to see why Amanda wanted to remember her dad and Kate so much…” he stays quiet for a moment, as if reminiscing. Sophie gives him a moment. “So… what do we do?” he asks.
“Well, like I said, you heat up the milk in a saucepan over the stovetop on low heat…”
“Great! Can you help me find the saucepan? Is it under the sink, in the fridge, or in the stove?” Sophie clicks under the sink. “That’s… right.” Wooly says, a little surprised by this. He goes under the sink and gets the saucepan. “Now… Could you tell me where the milk is?” Sophie clicks on the fridge. Wooly smiles. “Hehe, great job. Now could you tell me where the measuring cup is?” Sophie clicks on the cupboard. “Wow, right again! You’re a master at this!”
Honestly I have no idea where any of your stuff is. I'm just picking what I think is the most logical answer. Sophie thinks to herself.
“Can I tell you a secret? Honestly climbing and grabbing stuff from high places always makes me super nervous… could you grab it for me?” he asks. Sophie clicks and drags the measuring cup down onto the counter. “Awww thanks! You’re so nice! Alright. We need one cup of milk. Can you help me pour it?” Wooly starts pouring the milk in and Sophie clicks on it once it reaches one cup. “Perfect!” Then Wooly pours the milk into the saucepan. “You know what? I like you way better than Riley. Usually Riley always teases us and keeps picking the wrong answers on purpose! But you’re actually helpful!”
Riley… Sophie thinks to herself. “Yeah Riley tends to tease people they care about. It’s kind of their way of showing love.” Sophie laughs.
“Well I find it really annoying!” Wooly pouts, “Ah! But don’t tell them that, okay? Um… what do I do next?”
“You have to simmer it on low heat until it reaches the desired temperature.” Sophie answers. Wooly pauses for a moment, as if considering something.
“Hey, why don’t you make some warm milk with me?” he suggests. Sophie looks confused. “Turn around,” he whispers. She turns around and realizes there’s a toy mini stove and plastic saucepan behind her. Toys from when she was growing up.
That’s right… After mom died, dad started using the shelter like it was an attic or something… next to it is a plastic saucepan. She puts the mini-stove dial on low heat and puts the saucepan on it. “Should I… get some milk?”
“NO! Heh heh… just make believe, okay? Trust me…” Wooly whispers nervously. Sophie comes back to the tv and sits down. “While I watch the milk, can you get the cookies from the cupboard for me?” Sophie clicks and drags the cookies down on the counter. Wooly glances over his shoulder and sees them. “Ah! The milk is done! Which color cup should I use?” Sophie picks blue. “Ah… blue is…” the tape glitches, “nice…”
Did I make a mistake? Sophie wonders. Wooly pours the milk into the blue cup. He dips the cookie into the milk and takes a bite. Then he takes a big sip of milk.
“Aaaaaaaaah… this is the LIFE! Honestly… sometimes I can’t get why Amanda wants to leave SO badly! Just give me warm milk and some bubble baths and I might never want to leave.” he sighs.
“Well you can get plenty of those in the real world too.” Sophie laughs.
“That’s true… hmm…” Wooly says thoughtfully, as if daydreaming about all the other things he could do, “Thanks for spending time with me Sophie… I don’t like being alone at night.”
“No problem Wooly.” she replies.
“Really? It’s not a burden?”
“Not at all.” she smiles. He seems really happy to hear this.
“This is nice. I haven’t gotten to do this since… well… since before my sister… well… Riley probably already told you…”
“Yeah…”
“I know this is going to sound really weird… but it feels nice to have someone to talk to. I mean there’s Amanda… but up until recently we weren’t even friends anymore… and even now it still feels… awkward. And Riley… eeeeeeeeh… I don’t hate them but… I don’t know… you’re different. I feel comfortable around you… you feel safe…”
“Aww Wooly I’m flattered.” “Hey um… Sophie… Can I talk to you about something? Can I… vent a bit?”
“Sure Wooly.” Oh?
“This is going to sound awful but… this place… was the first place I ever felt safe.” Wooly confesses. “I mean, it was because I didn’t have my memories but still… It was a safe place. And Amanda… was the first person I ever felt like I could lean on. She was safe too. I mean… before that all I had was my little sister and… she needed me to be strong so…I was always either taking care of someone else or on my own. And for once… I felt like I had a friend. Someone I could lean on… even just a little…”
“I see…” Sophie responds.
“And then… she ruined it… they all ruined it. Making us remember that this world wasn’t real and we were. And sometimes… I really hate them for it. They were trying to do what was best for us but… they didn’t think any of it through… why screw everything up if you can’t fix it?” Wooly grumbles, then he stops, “Oh, I’m sorry. I know they were just trying to help… and I know you mom died trying to help us… wow that was really horrible of me right? You must hate me now.”
“I don’t hate you.” Sophie says, “To tell you the truth I… also resent my mom a bit.”
“Huh?”
“She was willing to do anything to save you guys… even if it killed her… she didn’t mind dying for this but… what the people she left behind. Her family. Me. Honestly I resented Hameln and… you guys too a little for the longest time. Why do some random kids in a TV show matter more?”
“I get it… I am mad at my mom too… I mean… she abandoned us… she was never there… she always just left when things hurt too much… but we needed her… if she had only just been around… maybe she wouldn’t have kil-… maybe things would be different.” Wooly sighs. “Sophie?”
“Yes?”
“Can I ask a question?”
“Go ahead.”
“What do you do when you feel… too many feelings? Too strongly? All at once?” Wooly asks.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean… I feel happy. Amanda and I are friends again. We might actually be able to escape… things might get better but… I also feel… sad… about my memories… and betrayed by what Amanda and Riley did… and… and…” Wooly stops, “Ever since I started really getting my memories back… I don’t know what it is… but sometimes- all the time? I just feel this… something bubbling up inside… like… I don’t want to blame anybody but…” Wooly glares at his cup of milk. “Then there’s Hameln… and all the things they did and Am-” he stops, the look on his face suggests that he felt like he was just about to say something horrible. “Amanda.” he says it very slowly and carefully, like it’s some cursed word that should never ever be spoken. “I can’t believe I put those two in the same sentence…” he mutters. Wooly grips his cup tightly, watching little ripples form in the milk. “I thought once I made amends with her… my safe space would come back but… after all the things she did… it’s like… I can’t trust her anymore. I don’t want to be mad at my best friend… but… UGH! I hate it! I hate it so much! I shouldn’t be thinking like this!”
“It’s totally normal to be upset when someone does something bad to you… sometimes it takes time to forgive them… and that’s okay…”
“But… being angry about it won’t fix anything.”
“It’s still okay to be mad… I mean… it’s not healthy to hold onto that anger-”
“I’m trying to let it go… really…”
“But it’s not healthy to hold it all in.” Sophie says, Wooly looks conflicted. “Hey… you okay?”
“Honestly? Honestly? No.” Wooly chuckles sadly, burying his face into his hands, his voice cracking a bit. “I hate this… I hate it here… I hate everything. I’m scared to leave and yet… I don’t want to stay…”
“That is… complicated.” These kids need a therapist… Sophie thinks.
“I… feel like she brings out the worst in me… like I want to just explode… and she makes me wanna do it. Even if just for a minute… to just scream at the world till my lungs burst… She asks me if I’m mad… I am mad… I’m mad at… everything. At Amanda, at Hameln, at my parents, at all the stupid adults who never listened and never cared, at all the adults who said they were going to help but only made things worse, at Riley, at… at… but I can’t… I can’t do it… I just can’t live like that…” Wooly stops, “I’m jealous… Amanda can just let it all out… I don’t know how she does that… She’s just as trapped as me… and yet she always seems so free…”
“Maybe you should talk to her about this?” Sophie suggests.
“No, I’m fine. Everything’s fine. I just needed to vent a bit. That’s it. That’s all, really.”
“Are you sure?” Sophie asks, Wooly pauses.
“Sophie? Do you really think we can get out of here?”
“Um…”
“Sometimes I don’t even know if I want to… I just… hate uncertainty so much.”
“Me too…”
“Sometimes… I wish… that when Amanda killed me… I had just stayed gone…” Wooly mumbles, “At least that way… I wouldn’t have to feel anything again. That way I wouldn’t have to remember… all of this… why did she make me remember? Why did I have to? I just… I…”
“Wooly…” “I’m sorry. That got really dark, huh? Guess I’m no good at this kids show stuff after all… heh heh… but um… thanks for listening, really. It means a lot.” Wooly smiles, “I think… I can… yawn go to… sleep now… could you… tuck me in?”
“Sure.” Sophie says softly. They glitch to Wooly’s room and she clicks on the blankets. Wooly lets out one last big yawn and says… “Goodnight.” Sophie expects the tape to end but the tape glitches to Amanda in the kitchen.
“You had milk and cookies without me?” Amanda mumbles, sounding hurt.
“I’m sorry, it was Wooly’s idea.”
“I know…”
“Oh.”
“I knew it… he is mad…” Amanda sighs.
“I…”
“He doesn’t talk to me about anything anymore…” Amanda cries.
“I’m sorry…?” Sophie wasn’t sure what to say.
“No… thanks for listening to him… I guess you aren’t so bad…” Amanda says. “I just… I…”
“You should talk. Both of you…”
“Mmm…” Amanda looks away.
“I mean it.”
“I’ve tried but…”
“Try again. Keep trying. Don’t give up.” Sophie says encouragingly. Amanda smiles.
“Thanks Sophie.” the tape ends and falls out of the VCR. She looks behind her at the toy mini-stove, now in the saucepan is a new tape titled: Lunchtime.
Ah… so that’s why he said no milk.
Author's note: Alright. That's the last fic for a while. Hope you enjoyed a little fluff there. As I wrote this fic, I found myself slowly creating this interesting dynamic. Amanda really only fully trusts Riley, and Wooly only fully trusts Sophie. Maybe they can use that to their advantage? But wow... Wooly's feeling... A LOT lately...
Also, trying out some new formatting with the thoughts. Do you like it or should I go back to the old method?
Also... yeah I deleted this post and rewrote the Wooly vents scene. Heh heh...

Author’s Note: The story Alfie is reading to the children is loosely inspired by the Malay Folklore; Legend of Puteri Gunung Ledang
Ginny (on the phone): Can we add fairy lights around the dance platform? Maybe some canopy curtains too?
Catalina: What colour do you want it to be in?
Ginny: Maybe white? Or do you have any other suggestions?
Indirah: I think white is good. Maybe we can hang the fairy lights on the curtains too.
Ginny: Ooh~ Good idea!
Catalina: Alright, do you have any other decorations you want to add?
Ginny: Well, I do have something in mind…
*knock knock*
Rainier (from outside the room): Ginny? Are you in there?
Ginny: Yeah! Don’t come in!
Rainier: Why? What are you doing in there?
Ginny: I’m working on my dress. You can’t see it yet!
Rainier: *chuckles* Okay~ I made strawberry cheesecake for tea time. Come and eat with me when you’re done~
Ginny: Alright. Give me a minute!
Ginny *thinking*: Hmm the wedding dress is almost done. All that is left are the bridesmaid's dresses.
*phone rings*
Alfie: Don’t pick it up.
Catalina: *breathless* It’s Ginny’s ringtone. I think she wants to talk about the wedding preparation.
Alfie: Urgh, cockblocker.
Catalina: *giggles*
Catalina: Hey, Ginny. What’s up?
Catalina: Mhm, I see…
Catalina: Oh, I think I already— *gasps*
Catalina: Wh-what are you doing?
Alfie: Don’t mind me. Continue the call.
Catalina: Alfie— Sorry, Ginny. Can you repeat that?
Catalina: *voice shaking* Y-yeah. I think red is nice.
Catalina: *gasps* I-I’m fine. I…I accidentally dropped something.
Catalina: *breathless* It’s getting late here. C-can we continue the call tomorrow? Yeah, okay bye.
Alfie: *playfully* Done already? I was just getting started.
Catalina: You are in a big trouble, Mr. Frederick.
Alfie: Ooh~ I’m so scared.
Catalina: You’re not sleeping tonight until I’m done with you.
Alfie: Is that a threat, Mrs. Frederick?
Catalina: *scoffs* It’s a promise.
Indirah: Wow, you ordered more than usual. Are you getting the cinnamon roll for Alfie?
Catalina: Huh? This? Nope. They’re mine!
Indirah: Whoa, you must be very hungry. I thought you hate those?
Catalina: I just want to give it a try. They’re not too bad!
Indirah: *chuckles* I’m glad you’re enjoying them then.
[Scene transitions to Lina and Alfie going on an engagement, maybe cutting ribbons for the opening of the children’s library? Alfie reads a book for the children.]
Alfie:…the King fell in love with the Princess after seeing her beauty and asks for her hand in marriage. But the Princess has set several conditions for him before she can agree to his proposal.
Ali: What are the conditions?
Hanna: Yeah! Tell us, Mr. Prince!
Alfie: The Princess’ conditions are; the King must build a golden palace for her to live in and a golden bridge all the way from Mount Belcoast to Mount Silvie for her to walk to and from. She then would also want seven barrels of tears from a young maiden for her to bathe in. And a bowl of the blood of the King’s young heir.
Hope: Whoa! That sounds crazy impossible!
Ali: Right? Why would she give him all that conditions?
Catalina: Well, that’s actually her way of subtly telling him that she doesn’t want to marry him.
Alfie: Exactly. And in the end, the King got the hint and returned to his Kingdom. He’d rather not sacrifice his child just to marry someone.
Hanna: Wah~ The King is a good dad! Just like my appa!
Hope: Tell us more stories, please!
Catalina: You’re going to be a great dad one day, Alfie.
Alfie: Why’d you say that?
Catalina: You’re good with kids. And I know you’re going to be great to our kids.
Catalina: It’s just like a dream I had. You and the children, asleep on the bed after you read them bedtime stories.
Catalina: Just remembering that dream again makes me so happy.
Ginny: *content sigh* This feels like a dream. Everything feels so perfect.
Rainier: Well, if it is. I don’t want to wake up.
Ginny: I can’t wait for our wedding. It’s going to be perfect.
Rainier: I know. I can’t wait too. We’ve waited so long for this.
Ginny: You make me so happy. I don’t deserve you.
Rainier: You do. You deserve everything good in this world.
Rainier: And I’ll continue to make you happy. Until we’re old and grey.

worth it
A/N: requested by anon from the fluff list! warnings: fluff, language, mentions of sex but no smut, Thomas being rude. not canon. for my Tommy and his darling wife! au. Prompt in bold. 1k words.
It was raining. Always rained, it seemed. The sun was never out for very long before the clouds took over lately. You had just gotten Katherine down for her afternoon nap, and you were on your way to rest for a while yourself when you heard a strange, sad noise coming from your husband's office.
You opened the door gently, revealing your husband at his desk with his head in his hands, hunched over his desk. “Thomas?” you ask gently.
He sits up immediately at the sound of your voice, his eyes red and dark circles underneath his eyes. “My love,” he said softly, clearing his throat.
“Are you alright?” you ask as he reaches for his handkerchief in his jacket pocket, blowing his nose.
“No, Darling, I am not.” he said frankly, leaning back in his chair. You approach him carefully, eyes sad. “Don’t look at me like that,” he snaps.
“Like what?” you ask, swallowing the lump in your throat.
“Like you pity me,” he said, reaching for his glass of whiskey. “Come here and let me touch you.” he demands softly.
You know he doesn’t mean sexually, not in this moment of intense, melancholy emotion for him. When he gets like this, he just wants to be close to you. Just wants to hold you, inhale your scent, lay his head on your chest. “Come lay down with me?” you ask sweetly, perching yourself on his lap in his desk chair.
“Maybe in a little while,” he whispers, wrapping his arms around you, sighing.
You readjust your position in his lap to look at him. “You’ve been blue lately, Thomas.” you tell him, running a hand through his hair.
“I have, hm?” he muses, not meeting your eyes.
“Yes,” you tell him, hand scratching the short hair at the nape of his neck, his eyes rolling closed at the sensation. “Peter has noticed too. Asked why Daddy looks so sad. Why Daddy doesn’t read him bedtime stories lately.”
Peter, your oldest, was two and already much too smart for his own good. Katherine had just turned the corner of being three months old.
“And you told him it’s because Daddy has been working very hard, right?” he said in a voice equal parts stern and defeated.
“Yes,” you reassure him. Peter is still far too young to understand the demons his father battles on a daily basis, both visible and invisible. “But he’s a smart child. He knows his Father works hard all of the time, but told me he never looked this sad doing it.”
Tommy groaned, shifting the both of you. “I don’t need you to berate me, angel.” he ground out.
“Thomas, I’m not–”
“Okay, well, I’ve got a lot to do, so could you leave me to it, please?” he asked, readjusting so you would have to get off his lap.
You stood up, dejected and slightly hurt. “Alright. I’m sorry,” you tell him, walking towards the door. “You’ll let me know if you need anything?” you ask.
“Mhm,” he grunts, shuffling through stacks of paper on his desk.
You slowly shut the door.
Later that evening, Tommy makes his way to your shared room, shoulders heavy. You’re already in bed, sitting up reading, lamps dimmed. He silently undresses for the evening, sliding into comfortable sleep pants and pulling his undershirt over his head. He slides into bed next to you, plucking the book from your hand and laying it down on your bedside table, making sure to mark the page. He lays his head on your stomach, wrapping his arms around you, legs tangling with yours beneath the sheets.
You smile softly at him, hands moving to his hair to massage his scalp. “Feels good,” he nearly moans, eyes closed, listening to the sounds your belly makes.
“Yeah?”
“So fucking good. You’re so fucking good to me,” he mumbles. “Too fucking good to me. Why are you so good to me?” he asks, turning to look at you.
You run a thumb over his cheek, caressing his scar. “You’re the love of my life, Thomas.” you say simply.
He snorts softly, returning to his original position. “You act as if love covers a multitude of bruteish behaviors,” he pauses as you resume your massage of his scalp. “I’ve not been good to you lately, love. And I’m sorry.”
You lean down and press a kiss to his temple. “You’re hurting, Thomas,” you tell him softly. “It’s alright.”
The memories of France had been haunting him more than usual lately, and he had recently been blackmailed by Inspector Campbell to carry out an assassination. He had told you, and it had caused a rift in your relationship for weeks. He was only able to repair the rift by swearing on all he loved that he would make it out alive, and reformulated the plan that Inspector Campbell originally had set.
A silent tear fell down his cheek into your lap. You didn’t mention it as you tapped his arm, asking him to sit up. He sits up next to you, exhaustion in his eyes. “I love you, Thomas.”
His eyes close and a small smile spreads on his lips. “I love you,” he replies, taking your hands, pressing a kiss to each knuckle, both palms before rolling on top of you, pressing his forehead to yours.
“You always manage to make me feel like I’m worth it,” he breathes, in disbelief of you. Of this love you have for him.
“That’s because you are worth it. You will always be worth it in my eyes.” you tell him as he presses a gentle kiss to your lips.
“I don’t know what I did so right to deserve your love,” he says, pushing a few stray strands of hair out of your eyes before he leans down to kiss you again. “Mrs. Shelby,” he whispers softly. “May I make love to you?”
Your eyelashes flutter over his cheeks, a smile spreading on your features and you giggle, nodding. He made love to you that night, slowly and languidly, vowing to himself that he would make himself worthy of your love. That he would do everything in his power to make the world see he was deserving of this incredible, unrelenting, soul-consuming love, and that he would give it back to you in spades.

Childhood Crush
Chapter 11: Zinc
Killer x gn!reader word count: 2.7k a/n: ngl, i rewrote this like three times lmfao next
“You know, when I invited you to stay for dinner, that doesn’t meant you had to make it,” Myra said with a small laugh as she sat at the table with you and her daughter. You were currently serving up some food. “What are these called, y/n?”
“They’re cabbage rolls.” Tell someone you’re missing your brother without telling them that you’re missing your brother.
“They look so good!” Lily was grinning ear to ear. “Let them cool off a little first, then start eating them.” The girl nodded excitedly, bouncing up and down in her seat.
“Do you have children of your own?” You looked at Myra, shaking your head. “No, I have a little brother. I raised him and his friends were always around too. It was like I was a mother of three from my teens.” You never really considered Killer as one of the ones you raised. If anything, he helped you wrangle them in.
“Sounds like quite the handful you grew up with.” There was a fond smile on Myra’s face. You laughed, shaking your head. “You have no idea.” You finished serving everyone, sitting down at the table.
You make idle chit chat with the both of them, feeling the best you’ve felt in a while. You didn’t realize how much you craved human interaction until now. You’d been holing up for so long, you were going somewhat insane.
Myra asked a lot about you and you asked about them. Turns out this was an island of scientists. They had the most advanced medicines and groundbreaking search. They even had a training facility. With an island with as much knowledge as they had, they had to be able to defend themselves.
“Can I visit the lab?” you asked.
Myra laughed and nodded. “Absolutely. We can go in the morning. Do you need a place to stay for the night?”
“Oo! Can y/n sleep with me! I wanna have a sleepover!”
“Oh, I’m sure they want to have their own space to sleep, but I’m sure they’d love to read you a bedtime story.” Myra looked up at you, winking. You caught on.
“Absolutely. Whatever you want me to read, just let me know.” You smiled. Lily seemed bummed about not sharing a bed, but she was content with being able to have a story read to her by you.
After dinner, you went to go tuck in Lily, reading her a book. It didn’t take her long to fall asleep and you headed back downstairs. “She asleep?” Myra came out of the kitchen drying her hands from the dishes. You had tried to do them, but she had shooed you away. “You cooked, so I’ll clean,” she had said.
“”Yeah. Out like a light.” You let out a small chuckle. “I remember when my brother was that little. We didn’t really have story books though, so I just came up with whatever.”
“Sounds like you raised him the best you could.”
“I tried…” You shook your head, trying not to dwell on things.
“Anyway. Thanks for letting me stick around. I can get out of your hair-”
“You’re staying, remember?”
“Oh, you don’t have to.”
“I’m well aware. But you’re coming to the lab in the morning anyway, so this’ll be the easiest way.” She shrugged, smiling at you. You squirm a little and nod. “O-Okay. Thanks.”
“Would you like some tea? I want to poke your brain a little more. You said some interesting things at dinner that I’d like to know about.”
You blinked, nodding. “Uh, sure. Yeah. Whatever you wanna know.”
Myra and you talked well into the night. You told her some of the things you made and she seemed absolutely interested in everything you had to say. She asked questions when she had them and even seemed impressed with some of the things you accomplished. You were flustered to say the least.
Who knows, maybe if tomorrow went well, you could stay.
--
“Doctor Ziegler! Welcome back!” There was a chorus of greetings as you walked into the lab with Myra the next morning. Turns out Myra was pretty much the head of the whole island. She was the top dog. Talk about insane coincidence. That had to be a sign that you were meant to be here.
Myra showed you around and you were in awe. There were machines that you were seeing that you had never even thought could exist. There was so much you could learn here and from what Myra said, so much you could teach them as well.
They all had been raised around science while you had to pretty much teach it to yourself. You had more practical methods for some things. You held a new perspective that they were looking for.
At the end of the day, Myra had a proposition for you.
“What if you stayed here? You could stay at my place.”
You just stared at her in disbelief. You still couldn’t believe this was happening. You were seeing so many amazing things and now this amazing woman was asking you to stay. To help provide them with new insights.
“I-” You took a deep breath, trying to process it.
A laugh came from Myra. “I know it’s a lot to take in. Don’t feel like you need to answer immediately. You can take some time if you need. I know you’re a pirate n’ all, but I feel like you’d be an excellent addition to our team.” She smiled warmly at you.
“Ah, yeah…let me think about it. I’ll get back to you in the morning.”
With that, you left. You needed to talk to your brother first and foremost. While you walked back to the ship, you were mulling over your options. Honestly, they were all pointing to staying. You were looking for an excuse to leave the crew at this point. Plus, if you stayed and furthered your own knowledge, perhaps you could finally be of use to your brother. You could make better medicines. Hell, you might even be able to get your arm back.
For the first time in a long time, you felt hopeful.
--
“Absolutely not.” Eustass wouldn’t even entertain the idea of you staying, but you weren’t going to let him squash your dreams.
“Bold of you to assume I’m asking.” You glared at him with your hands on your hips. He dropped the box he had with a groan, turning on you. “Bigs, I’m not letting you stay at some random island just cause you want to.”
He glared at you. “You fucking disappear for two days and now you just wanna fuckin’ stay? Leave us? Like hell I’m letting you do that.”
You just stared at him. The audacity of this kid sometimes. “Listen. I’m staying and that’s final. There’s a lot of shit I can learn here. And you guys have things you need to do.”
“Killer!”
“I’m not touching this one, captain. This is all you.”
Eustass cursed at Killer who didn’t even respond, letting him say what he wanted. You sighed. “I know you’re worried. But, I’ll come find you, okay? I’ll only stay maybe a year or two. There’s a lot I can learn from here. I’ll come back with more ways to help out the crew.”
He looked at you for a long moment. “Whatever. Do whatever the fuck you want.” Then he turns on his heels and stomps on the ship. You run a hand through your hair. You weren’t expecting it to end up that badly. You thought that after your last fight he’d be willing to just let you leave.
“Y/N!” You turn around to see Dive, like her namesake, diving off the ship and towards you. You don’t have time to move as she collides into you, but you braced for impact just enough to catch her. “For fuck’s sake, Dive!”
She just cackled as she hung off of you as if she was some small child. Well, she was shaped like one. She looked up at you, jumping off. “I heard you talking when I was passing.” She frowned deeply. “Are you really leaving?”
You nodded, sighing as you sat down on a box. “Yes. But it’s just for a little bit, I swear.” You smiled at her. She narrowed her eyes. “Don’t lie to me I literally heard you tell the captain a year or two. That isn’t a little bit at all.”
“Well, in the grand scheme of things - that’s not very long.”
“That’s years, y/n! That’s such a long time,” she groaned, flopping onto your lap. “What am I supposed to do without you?”
“Oh, I’m sure you’ll figure out something to do. Just…don’t chew on the ship.”
She looked at you, a devious glint in her eye. “If you leave, there’s no stopping me from chewing on the ship.” Your face turned into a deadpan. “I will leave you with nothing to strengthen your teeth if you act like that.”
Her eyes widened and she pursed her lips. “Mmm, fine. I’ll behave.” She folded her arms and pouted. “Fuckin’ dumb,” she grumbled. “Why do you have to go?” she whined.
You sighed, leaning back on your hands. “Because…” A certain face popped into your mind, immediately souring your mood. “I could learn a lot here. Then when I come back I’ll have even cooler shit for you guys.”
Dive seemed to mull it over. “I still think you’re just fine.” Honestly, you were a little shocked right now. You weren’t expecting Dive to try to get you to stay. Or anyone really. Not from what Kese had said. Maybe he had been lying? Or maybe this was some elaborate plan to keep you on the ship so that Eustass didn’t have to worry.
But you didn’t want him to feel obligated to watch over you anymore. Besides, you had already dug your grave and made your decision. You were staying.
After a few more minutes of shooting the shit with Dive, you headed to your lab to start gathering your things.
While you were packing up your things, members of the crew came to say goodbye. You still weren’t sure how the hell to feel about everything. Was this your brother’s ploy to make you feel bad and stay? You appreciated the sentiment, but you weren’t going to stay. You knew you’d only hold him back.
Later that night, you’re packing up your things in the lab. You hear a knock on your doorframe. You look to see Eustass, Killer, Heat, and Wire standing there. You fully turn towards them. “Hello?” You’re confused, but not exactly unhappy to see them.
Heat walks over to you, wrapping his arms around you in a firm hug as he lifts you off the floor. You sputtered in confusion for a moment, blinking rapidly as you were processing what was going on. “We’re gonna miss you.” Then he set you down and you looked up at him. You offered a small smile. “I’m gonna miss you too.
“Be safe, y/n.” Wire was speaking this time in his usual cool tone. You look at him and nod. “Always.” There was a somber mood and this was the calmest you had seen some of them, but you supposed this was also the first time you weren’t going to see them for an extended amount of time in…almost a decade? And you’ve been at your brother’s side since he was born.
“We did make something for you,” Eustass said with a bit of a grimace on his face. It seemed like he was accepting he couldn’t stop you, but he was still clearly not happy about it. At least he was respecting your wishes.
Killer stepped forward, presenting a sheathed knife to you. You looked at the four of them before taking it gently in your hands. “We wanted you to have something to defend yourself on the new island,” Killer said. “Can’t have you dying on us,” Wire chimed in. You laughed gently, a fond expression forming on your face.
“We were gonna wait for your birthday, but…” Eustass dropped off his sentence, folding his arms and looking away. “Someone wants to fuckin’ leave.” He was straight up pouting and it was honestly very amusing.
You took the knife out, wrapping your hand around the grip. It was absolutely stunning. The metal was different colors depending on the lighting and it seemed to have a slight curve to it. Much akin to the scythes you had made for Killer all those years ago. You saw your brother’s jolly roger in the hilt and etched into the base of the blade itself.
You felt your face soften and tears start forming in your eyes. “You guys are so fuckin’ sweet,” you grumbled, sniffling. You wiped your tears away, putting the blade up and quickly attaching it to your belt.
“We’re gonna miss you,” Killer said. You nodded, looking at all of them. “And I’m gonna miss you all too.” Your brother walked up to you, easily towering you, and you looked up at him. There was a mixture of emotions on his face, but it seemed he finally gave in. He hugged you tightly - you holding him in turn.
“I’m so proud of you, Tungsten. Remember that, alright?” You felt him tense for a moment before hugging you a little tighter. You just smiled fondly. Honestly, you were worried what would happen if you weren’t around, but you knew they’d hold their own. After all, how the hell would you protect them anyway? You needed this. All you had done your entire life was take care of them and it was time for you to figure out your own thing.
At least for a little while.
“Don’t die on us, Bigs,” Eustass mumbled, clearing his throat. You let out a small laugh, pulling away from him and taking his face in your hands. You grinned widely. “You should know it takes a lot to kill a roach like me.” He stared for a moment before letting out his own large grin. “Fuck yeah. That’s right.”
“Just make sure none of you die on me, okay?” you said, stepping back and looking at the four of them. You placed your hands on your hips. “I swear to fuck that if any of you die - I will personally bring you back and end your lives myself, got it?” You narrowed your eyes at them. They all just laughed at you, your own smile spreading across your face.
You felt…at peace right now. You weren’t thinking of Kese or the things he said. You were starting to think he was wrong but…this was something that needed to happen. Your brother needed to be able to grow without you. They all did. And you needed to be able to do your own thing.
One by one, they filed out until Killer was the only one left. “It’s nice to see that spark of life in your eye again. I just wish you weren’t leaving for us to have seen it again.” You blinked, feeling your face warm up. You didn’t even realize how much you had changed yourself.
“Listen…” You looked up at him as he spoke, tilting your head to the side. “Hm?”
“I…” He paused, rubbing the back of his neck. “Be careful, yeah?”
You blinked. It seemed like he had wanted to say something else, but you were letting it go. You smiled at him. “Yeah. Don’t worry. I’ll come back to you guys in one piece, alright?” He nodded, quickly leaving after that.
That was weird.
--
After saying their goodbyes to you, they all bid you farewell. As the ship sailed off, everyone was waving and yelling their sentiments to you. Eustass was standing with his usual three people. “So…did you tell ‘em?”
Killer tensed but deflated, earning sighs from the others. Heat and Wire walked off, throwing their hands in the air.
“Fucking hopeless,” Eustass said with a shake of his head.

CG! MITSUYA+DRAKEN AND LITTLE! TAKEMICHI SHORT FIC
[Not beta read, may be typos]
Mitsuya wasn't aware that his 'big brother senses', as some of the other founders teasingly called it, were something that could basically blare in his head like some sort of siren. At least he wasn't aware until a dazed-looking Takemichi silently grabbed onto the purplet's left ring and pinky fingers and just stood beside and slightly behind the aforementioned while Draken and Mitsuya both looked at him in confusion.
The meeting welcoming Valhalla as new sixth division and promoting Takemichi to captain had newly dismissed so it was only the admins and the twin dragons had been talking about going for a ride when it happened. Takemichi had been so quiet walking up that Mitsuya slightly flinched in surprise when he felt the faux blond's hand curl around his fingers but his mind yelled that this wasn't a teenager beside him, it was a child the same age as Mana. Mitsuya couldn't begin to guess why he just went with it.
His right hand moved up to Takemichi's head and ruffled through the pompadour, feeling Takemichi relax slightly. Mitsuya's confusion shifted to worry at how dazed those ocean eyes looked but didn't want to question it too deeply here around everyone and especially not with Takemichi in this state.
"Hey kiddo, you okay?" Mitsuya tested the nickname, Draken giving him an even more confused look than they'd both given Takemichi but purple eyed captain looked at the vice commander as if to say 'hold on, I want to see something'.
"Mm-mmh, 'm stressed" Takemichi's mumble as he shook his head slightly was low but they both could hear clear as day that child-like tone. That kicked Draken into the same feeling as Mitsuya that this was more like interacting with a child.
"You wanna talk about it, kid?" Draken asked and they watched Takemichi bite his bottom lip as if needing something to chew on. The ocean eyed male shook his head again before settling his temple against the edge of Mitsuya's shoulder. His own left hand came up in a loose fist and rubbed at his eyes in a poor attempt to rub the daze, tiredness, or maybe both from his eyes. Every movement he made radiated 'young child' and both twin dragons could tell.
"Do you want us to go hang out at your house? Draken and I can tell you cool stories about being delinquents?" Mitsuya gave a small fond smile to Takemichi that only grew more fond when those blue eyes got sleepily bright with childish awe as Takemichi looked at Mitsuya and nodded quickly like a kid wanting a bedtime story. Draken chuckled and held his keys out.
"Think you can hold onto these for me until we get down to our bikes, kid?" Draken jingled the keys which grew a smile from Takemichi who grabbed them and immediately began fidgeting with them looking like he'd just been given the greatest gift on earth. "Do you want to be carried?"
Takemichi nodded and Draken made easy work of picking up the new captain and holding him close.
"Hey guys, we're gonna head out" Mitsuya called out while Takemichi eased into Draken and continued playing with the keys. Eyes turned to them and then specifically to Takemichi.
"Is he okay?" Kisaki asked. On one hand, he and Takemichi were rivals, yes. On the other hand, Takemichi was just as human as him and Kisaki respected the guy at least a bit so of course he was going to make sure Takemichi was okay.
"Yeah just tired as all hell. Mitsuya and I are taking him home so he doesn't go passing out on the way" Draken chuckled and made sure to bite his tongue on any heavier swearing so this child-michi wouldn't go repeating it. They received nods and the twin dragons walked off with Takemichi being held to Draken's front supported by the black eyed male's right arm and with Draken's left hand rubbing up and down Takemichi's back.
"Hey Michi, could you tell us how old you are?" Draken asked once they reached the parking lot and realized it was empty but their bikes. He and Mitsuya hoped for an answer beneath ten so they knew what age this sort of mental state was and not just an iteration of Takemichi's physical age. They watched Takemichi seem to count on his fingers before looking up at Draken with a slightly proud smile.
"I just turned four" The timeleaper said and Draken huffed a small and very fond laugh.
"Well happy late birthday, tiny tot." The teen with braided hair snerked and laughed quietly when he immediately got a pout in return.
"Well I'm gonna be a big delinquent super hero when I grow up which is cooler than a normal delinquent, so-" Takemichi stuck his tongue out and Mitsuya grinned slightly. Both founders honestly liked this side of Takemichi simply because he immediately felt like their little brother.
"You're gonna be a hell of a lot cooler then" Mitsuya was naturally happy to be a big brother so he was slightly glowing as he encouraged the regressed teen. Tired and chilsh giggles escaped the faux blond and both twin dragons took insane pride over it.

Entire World
A little dad!matty piece.
Word Count: 1448
CW: none
♥️
_____________________________________________________________
Matty hasn’t seen his daughter Gigi in thirty one days, six hours and fifteen minutes. He has been on tour on the other side of the world and this time they couldn’t work around school and Gigi’s Mum’s bookshop to get them there for a visit. They have facetimed every morning, when she has been awake brushing her tiny teeth for school and pulling on her little school jumper. She talks to him about nonsense on the phone, stuff he doesn’t quite understand, fairies and monsters and her friends and whose house she has been to play at and customers at the shop he hasn’t met. She holds up pictures of drawings she has done and sometimes, she will read to him from her school book. He doesn’t understand the reading levels, but he knows his kid is smart, and that she is proud of whatever colour level she is on so that’s all that matters.
He lands on a red eye and immediately gets a car to the shop where Gigi’s mother is. They’ve been fighting. Frustrated. Matty gets annoyed when she rushes Gigi to finish a call with him because they need to get to school, jealous that she gets to spend almost every waking second with her, see her fall asleep, see her the minute she opens her eyes in the morning. She gets annoyed with Matty when he doesn’t understand the pressures of daily life, of what it’s like dealing with tantrums, and breakfast, and washing school uniforms. That he gets to rock up and be the fun Dad whereas she is constantly playing the bad guy, the bedtime enforcer, the one who is always there, always for granted. He gets it. He does. She gets it too. It’s just hard. The lives that have been chosen, have had to happen.
When he gets to the shop though, instead of bringing it all up, instead of bickering, instead of complaining, he wraps her into a huge hug, smelling the new books and coffee and perfume in her hair and on her apron. He looks at her and she looks at him, but they leave everything behind.
“Are you okay?” he asks her. And there is weight behind the words. It isn’t casual. It’s everything to him.
“Yeah,” she says, “Are you? How was your flight?”
“Shit scary,” he says and this makes her laugh. Then he quietly helps her unpack some books for the shop, and then when the jet lag gets the best of him, he sits in the window seat of the café looking out at the people and cars going by, and she brings him a coffee and puts it on the bench in front of him, and then slides her arms round his waist and sticks her hands in his rumpled shirt to find warmth. He sighs. Leans into her. Closes his eyes.
“I missed you so much,” he whispers.
“I missed you too,” she mumbles into his back.
She has to go back to work and so he drinks his coffee and tries to stay awake, checking the time on his watch over and over as it slowly counts down to three fifteen when his daughter gets out of school. She doesn’t know he is coming. She doesn’t know he is back. Gigi thinks Mum will pick her up as usual. Or maybe Nana. Or Laura, her Mum’s friend. It hasn’t been Dad in a month so she doesn’t expect it. When she asked on facetime this morning where he was, he was in passport control, and he told her he was doing something very important with work. She didn’t question it. She is five years old. And he is always doing something important with work.
The time finally comes. They walk down to the school together. Mum and Dad. His heart is beating in his chest. He feels dizzy with excitement. His arms feel empty. They need something to hold. They need his little girl, wrapped up in them, his baby. He needs to hear her laugh. He needs to listen to her stories. He needs to watch her skip down the pavement.
There is a small part of him, that is worried. What if she sees him and her face falls? What if she wanted just Mum? The one who is always there? The one who is there to tuck her in every night? Not him. Not the one who leaves. The one who disappears. What if he is mad at her? Resents her? Like her Mum is? Like her Mum does? He reaches over and grabs her hand, squeezes it. She looks up and smiles at him. Winks. He feels better.
He arrives at the school gates. They’re cliché, wrought iron, and the school ground is concrete. There are no kids out yet but there is a teacher and the doors are open, ready to greet the children. Other parents mill around. A couple look at him. They are aware of Gigi, apparently, most of them. And her famous father. Someone has even tried to get tickets off her Mum in the playground before. He told them to fuck off next time he saw them.
The teacher side eyes him now. He knows they don’t like him. What they say about him. That Mum is nice enough but Dad, Dad thinks his kid should be top of the class, Dad thinks his kid needs special attention, Dad is a bit over bearing, isn’t he? Dad writes songs that Gigi accidentally sings in school and the other kids giggle. Dad swears in front of her and turns up at parents evening sweating from rehearsals. Dad is late. Dad is trying. Dad is the reason Gigi misses so much school. Is always off somewhere travelling. Dad is the reason her routines are unsettled. Dad being gone is the reason Gigi sometimes comes in crying.
Here come the children. Running. Screaming. One crying. Uniforms dishevelled even thought they were neatly packaged up for school this morning. Book bags flying. Hair falling out.
“There she is,” Gigi’s Mum says to him, nudging. He doesn’t see her for a second, in the sea of children dressed the same, but then, there she is. His sweet girl. A part of him. A part of him missing, here now, shouting distance away. Gigi is holding something, a toy, showing a friend, she is in her own world. She hasn’t seen either of them yet. Her book bag is on her wrist, dangling. Her black hair has made it’s way out of the neat plaits he saw on facetime this morning and curls around her face. Her friend runs off, towards their parents, and she turns. She sees Mum. Mum waves. And then her eyes land on him.
It takes her a second. To register. To see that he is really there. She blinks. Then she yells “Daddy!” He’s grinning. There is tears in his eyes. She usually calls him Matty, his real name, surrounded by adults most of the time who call him the same thing. The more it bothers him, the more she is does it, sarcastically, poking him, almost like she is telling him off. “For God’s sake, Matty,” she will say. Just like she has heard her mother say a thousand times. But today it’s Daddy. Today he is Daddy.
She runs. She drops her book bag and the toy. The whole playground turned at her scream and are now watching her, bolt towards him, where he is ready to catch her with open arms. She wraps her legs around his waist and he stands up holding her. She is sobbing. Her little chest heaving against his. It’s hard not for him to do that same thing. She pulls back and looks at him, wipes the curls away from where they got stuck in her tears.
“You happy?” he asks. And she nods, sobbing still. He holds her for as long as she needs him to. Stroking her back. Kissing the top of her head.
The rest of the playground goes back to it’s business. A couple of parents wipe away their own tears. Gigi’s Mum is sniffing to stop crying too. A teacher retrieves her discarded book bag and toy and hands them to her Mum who says thank you. The teacher smiles at them and walks away.
Yeah okay, they think all those things about him, but they can’t deny. Gigi loves Matty, adores him. And they can’t deny either. That he loves her too. More than anything in the entire world.
“Let’s go sweetheart,” he says to her.
“Where are we going?” she says.
“Wherever you want.”

A Nap Is All I Need
(GIF isn't mine) Martin Whitly x little!reader Summary: You visit your parents over the weekend but can't get the rest you need there, Martin comes (calls) to your rescue. Word count: 711
Why did you think visiting your parents over the weekend was a good idea? Currently you didn’t know and you regretted the decision. Your parents had a somewhat unexpected visitor over and you stayed in your room, not willing to get up and socialize now. What you really wanted was to be in little space, enjoying your weekend before the next week of being an adult started. However, thanks to the visit that was off the table. You could hear your family talking across two floors, your door was already closed, and you had headphones on.
You also felt cranky and in need of a nap, floating in between little space and being big didn’t help at all. And on top of all those struggles, that felt like too much to handle in your current state of mind, you missed your partner and caregiver Martin. He had to stay back home for work. So there you sat in your room, blocking out noises from outside your room with headphones that blasted loud music, missing your caregiver and wanting to nap.
All you wanted was to curl up in his arms and nap. He was always so comfortable and warm. Perfect for cuddles in your opinion. And he always took such good care of you, reading you like no one else could – well maybe his son could but this isn’t about him. As if on cue your phone lit up with a call from Martin. “Think of the devil” you said to yourself before picking up.
You were first to greet him with a short “Hi”. “Hey, how’s my little angel doing?” came his reply softly. “Definitely not little and not an angel either.” You replied with a sigh and Martin could immediately tell that your mood was all but happy or content. “What’s wrong pumpkin?” his concerned tone had you spill everything in an instant. How you couldn’t be small because of everything going on in the background and how you missed him and just wanted to curl up in his arms and nap. A sad whine also made its way out of your throat and through the speakers to Martin. “Nawww my poor little angel. Hmmm let me think what we can do now.” While he thought about a solution, you curled up as best as possible on the desk chair you sat on.
“Okay, I think I have an idea, angel.” You hummed, signaling that he had your attention. “Can you go and lay down in bed for me? Grab a stuffie, your paci, whatever you need to be comfortable.” You got up from the chair and told him “I think I can do that yeah.” “Good. Let me know once you’re all snuggled up?” a short hum was the only answer he got while you were starting to get comfortable in bed. “Done. Am comfy. What do I do now?” you asked, curious what he had in mind. “Do you by chance have head or earphones lying around?” an idea dawned on you as to what his plan was, “Yeah I do, let me just quickly grab them.” You reached for your earphones, connected them to your phone, and told Martin you were all ready and set.
“Good job pumpkin. Now how do you feel about that nap you talked about earlier? Any better now that you’re in bed and have your earphones in?” You thought about it for a second and you were indeed feeling calmer than before. “Little better yesh. Can mostly only hear you now.” Upon hearing this Martin let out an acknowledging hum. “Alright then, how can I help you with falling asleep hm? I can read you a story, sing a lullaby, or just talk.” All of these sounded like a good idea but with your little side taking over more and more you decided on the story. And so he started to softly read you your favorite bedtime story.
Since you were wearing earphones that shielded you from outside noises and amplified Martin’s voice it didn’t take long for you to finally fall asleep peacefully. Once Martin was sure you were asleep he wished you sweet dreams in a quiet whisper. He stayed on the phone until you woke up again.

Bedtime Stories
(Dieter x horror loving female)
Words: 1, 426
Summary: thanks to this lovely idea from @nell4now I wrote this adorable idea where Dieter reads to his family even when he’s away
Warnings: pregnant reader, all the pregnancy nausea, so much wholesomeness so maybe have some tissues, Stephen King
Check out masterlist here
“‘The operation was called hobbling, Paul, and that is what I’m going to do to you. For my own safety…and yours as well. Believe me, you need to be protected from yourself. Just remember, a little pain and it will be over. Try to hold that thought.’
Terror sharp as a gust of wind filled with razor-blades blew through the dope and Paul’s eyes flew open. She had risen and now drew the bedclothes down, exposing his twisted legs and bare feet.
Seriously honey cakes, you want me to read this?”
You opened your eyes and looked over at your husbands concerned face. Humming an affirmative, you nodded your head.
“Won’t this make you more nauseous?” he asked.
“Your voice is soothing.”
“It’s not your favourite voice though?”
You gave a little smile, “It’s in my top five of sexiest voices.”
“Top five? Wow, I’m honoured.”
“There’s a lot of sexy voices out there,” you rubbed your stomach. “Yours is the Things favourite.”
Dieter put his hand over yours, “Am I your favourite, cupcake?”
“Don’t talk about food or I’ll vomit.”
“So back to the crazy violence?”
“Yes! The Thing wants violence!”
“Aw,” he patted your stomach. “You’re already taking after your mama!”
*****
This tradition of Dieter reading to you started when you got pregnant. Trying various ways to distract yourself from the constant nausea, the only thing that brought comfort was your beloved horror. While watching a film, you’d end up falling asleep to the sounds of mindless teenagers falling victim again and again to the slow-paced serial killer. You’d wake up hours later with a blanket draped over you and a fresh glass of water on the table.
Reading also helped but it was hard to keep your eyes open. Dieter quickly learned that the best way to soothe your battling body was to read to you, his voice providing a gentle hum, the perfect vibration to cancel out the painful buzzing of nausea. It was so comforting to cuddle up with your husband while he read the words of your favourite books.
Sadly, he wasn’t able to read to you every night. He made himself busy so you wouldn’t have to work, and it would leave him with plenty of paternal leave once the baby was born. Technology helped in some ways but not always. Lying in bed with a few good pillows to prop you and your growing bump up, you answered your phone, Dieter showing up on screen.
“Hey honey cakes, sorry I haven’t been able to call later, filming has been hectic and-you’re lying in bed. Have you been sick again?”
“No, it’s just a pain in the arse to move around. Have you tried moving around with a watermelon attached to your stomach?”
“I’d have to check over my filmography.”
You both laughed but you stopped and shifted, letting out an uncomfortable sigh.
“Are you okay honey cakes?”
“Yeah, the Thing is just excited to hear you.”
“Hey cupcakes,” he addressed your stomach. “Have you been missing daddy?”
“I had to find something to stop the summersaults. I ended up using some audiobooks you did.”
“I did some audiobooks?”
“Yeah, I never knew you did the audio for Never Go Down to the Neverwoods. That’s my favourite werewolf trilogy. I liked that the main character Celina was a female werewolf. And it had creative werewolf lore with original werewolves being priestesses of Artemis and…”
“I narrated a werewolf series?”
You described the story to hopefully trigger a memory. “Small town suffers strange animal attacks which turn out to be a werewolf.”
“Sorry but when I read things out loud, it goes in one ear and out the other. But not with you, I’d never with you.”
“I know,” you sighed happily. “You probably don’t remember some chapters. Had to skip them.”
“Really? Why?”
“Sheriff Luca and Celina finally get together and have some babies, so it gets a bit spicy.”
“I really must’ve not been paying attention because I’d remember some spicy reading.”
You laughed, “So how is it on the other side of the country?”
Dieter sighed, “I tell you; I’m bored out of my brains here.”
“Do you have enough yarn?”
“Thankfully yes. And this small town is big enough to have a small yarn shop. I’m nesting now. Actually, let me show you what I found yesterday.”
He moved out of frame for a second and came back trying to move his object into frame. You managed to see a set of books.
“I found the complete Winnie the Pooh stories!” he declared. “It’ll fit great with the nursery.”
“That’s so sweet!”
“I can’t wait to read them,” he wiped a tear from his eye.
“You know, could you read them out now? Record them I mean.”
“You’d like that?”
“I know someone who’d like it,” you said rubbing your stomach.
*****
Clara loved it when her father read to her. Dieter noticed this early on as she’d always give a wide grin whenever he’d talk to her, smiling a toothless grin. Eventually she would understand the words he was saying, and she went on a magical journey every night before bed.
“Now one day Pooh and Piglet and Rabbit and Roo were all playing Poohsticks together. They had dropped their sticks in when Rabbit said ‘Go!’ and then they had hurried across to the other side of the bridge, and now they were all leaning over the edge, waiting to see whose stick would come out first. But it was a long time coming, because the river was very lazy that day, and hardly seemed to mind if it didn’t ever get there at all.”
“Can we play? Clara asked looking up at him.
“You want to play Pooh Sticks?” she nodded. “Of course we can cupcake. We’ll do it as soon as I’m back.”
Dieter wanted to be there at every bedtime but sadly, his work didn’t make that possible. He was sad to leave his family as he went off to be several states away.
The timing became terrible as Clara came down with a terrible fever that warranted a trip to the emergency room. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as you thought, your motherly instinct taking it to the extreme. Coming back home after a few hours with medication, Clara was put straight to bed, your bed as you wanted to keep her close. She was still restless with fever, so you put the headphones over her ears like you did when you put them across your pregnant bump. As soon as the dulcet tones of Dieter’s voice played, your daughter instantly calmed and fell into a deep slumber.
You only informed your husband once Clara’s illness was in the clear as he would have come straight back home. He did still call you as soon as he was able.
The ringing of your phone woke you from your slumber. You quickly forgave it as it was Dieter calling, soon seeing his face on your screen.
“How is she? How are both of you?”
“She’s fine. We’re fine. It was just a small fever.” You moved the screen so a sleeping Clara could fit onto your screen.
“She’s sleeping next to you?”
“It made sense. You’ve spoiled her with cuddles.”
He sighed, “I do. And I spoil you with cuddles.”
“Cuddles are nice.”
“She can’t wait until she gets cuddles from you again.”
“Has she been missing me much?”
“Only a little. I brought out your recordings to help her sleep.”
“Really?”
“Really really.”
“Glad those recordings helped you again. Tell her I found the perfect place to play Pooh Sticks.”
“I will. Love you Dieter.”
“Love the both of you.” He put his fingers to his lips and held them up to the screen and you did the same.
*****
The recordings were used every night while he was away. Clara would happily listen to a story every night. But before she closed her eyes, she’d say “Night night daddy.”
This left you confused until you decided to listen to the recordings. You never heard them in full as the stories were purely for your daughter. Rewinding a little, you listened to the ending. What you discovered brought a tear to your eye.
“So they went off together. But whenever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing.” There was a pause then Dieter said. “Night night cupcake, daddy loves you.”
